i've been here for as long as lasagne_of_death how does someone get to be so active on here i'm already on here an hour a day.

I know for myself I just drop in sporadically. But I have noticed people tend to be more active on the forums long term after they participate in an event, because it is often a positive experience that also helps you to connect with other members in the forums. Entries, challenges, and similar feelings are shared when participating in the same event as others. It's a connect thing and you get to know other members a little more.

I think it very much depends on the life of each individual person, to be honest. I was definitely much more active when I was in high school and college, because I had a lot of free time and no job. Since graduating and getting a job, I’ve been pretty inactive in comparison. The main reason I interact with the forums anymore is events, as they’ve always had a major pull for me (and I believe that’s the case for many other members as well). When there isn’t an event going on, I will go days or occasionally even weeks without even logging on.

Dust. Millions of sprinkles of space dust. 😅

I'm personally more active around events, when a new game i play comes out, and ofc to check on friendly game schedules, such as our amongus games on weekends.

On many days I often visit at least once, even if I can't always think of something to post. I don't actually look at very many places online in general, but this is one of them.

I still have a few friends active on here and I also like to post. But events are the main reason of user activity.

Just depends on how much time they have and the amount or lack of responsibilities. Pretty much as how That Marshal Fangirl explained it. I would like to make more time for the forum as I think you all are awesome, but with a job, responsibilities, and all that life brings it's not something a lot of us can do.

I notice activity picks up with every event, especially the bigger ones like Camp TBT and TBT Fairs. The consistency of these events contribute a lot to the activity you see, even if there are smaller ones held between.

I’m not active in many sections outside of Brewster’s Café, but I try to at least visit all of the sections. I also participate in events despite not being as into collectibles as everyone else on the site.

Activity may pick up once we hear something about the inevitable release of the new Animal Crossing on the Switch 2. This forum tends to pop up when people search for anything about the series.

Forums are one of the less time consuming things honestly.

It's no different than scrolling other social media. I could do a full visit here in the time that it would take me to watch a single YouTube video.

I think That Marshal Fangirl summed it up perfectly. Personally, I was the most active during university. I'd come on while commuting, between classes and even during lectures if they were boring lol. TBT was my main social outlet because I didn't have friends at my university. Ever since I graduated and got a job, I just check in here for a few minutes each day to see if I have notifications or if something particularly interesting is happening.

I'm primarily active exactly for events

beyond those periods, I spend most of my time watching the marketplace while occasionally popping into other boards/threads

problem for me is most topics either feel discussed to death and I maybe even already contributed all I had to say on a particular one, or I just don't care enough to bother

Originality is a nonrenewable resource. Ideas will eventually run out, and all you’ll see are repeats.

Anyways, I’m logged in pretty much every day. But there hasn’t been a day where I’m super active on the forums during the low times (the breaks).

They really aren’t. You have some users that post a ton, and then you have others that check in multiple times a day/daily/every other day but don’t post that often, like me (which is definitely a skill issue. Should probably work on that). I think most people fall into either that category or the other where they visit fairly infrequently. It might seem active because of events, but most of the time it’s pretty chill. That’s not a bad thing, but the time between events is noticeably more boring.

@That Marshal Fangirl says it right for me, except I am on the opposite end of things. I have worked so much over the decades and raised family, and now I am going back the other direction.

I am trying to relax more and I enjoy the company of the TBT folks. I am not sure what it means to be "active" but I usually try to check in daily but I generally miss a day or two at times.

Contribute as much or as little as you like! There is no pressure or expectations from anyone in this forum!

I do not know... it is certainly different for each person. I find myself logging in practically every day, but i don't post very often at all. It is not intentional, and i wish i could become more active.

I really don’t have any semblance of a social life outside of here and work. When I joined TBT, the friend group I was already in from my high school years was already starting to deteriorate for various reasons, and we all ultimately went our separate ways later that year. I haven’t talked to any friends since. TBT has since become the place to maintain and improve my social skills, and boy, am I glad to have met some wonderful users.

There aren’t many places on the internet that have users as relatable as the ones I’ve met here. Granted, I wasn’t a member during the peak periods of New Leaf and New Horizons, but that doesn’t matter to me. The fact that I found TBT to be a good place to chat and be my natural self without having to face harassment is what keeps me coming back. The staff do a very good job of making sure everyone feels welcome and that discussions don’t get too out of hand. I even became comfortable enough to share personal struggles with my ASD in Brewster’s without issue. Yes, there are heated moments here and there as with every other forum, but again, Staff are quick to resolve issues. I’m grateful to have such support to make me come back daily.

i look at the site periodically throughout the day. i don't think there has been a single day where i haven't checked TBT since my join date although i don't always post.

i used to post a lot on the trading boards but i don't actively play animal crossing anymore, i'm waiting for the next animal crossing to come out whenever that may be. i hang out in the brewster's cafe more than anything now mainly because i like rambling 😂
