I've haven't really been enjoying this school year so far, I mean it's alright but one of the only reasons I like it is because I see my friends there. So I was randomly thinking, what's better homeschool/ online school or Public School. What do you guys think?

Public school, by far.
Even though I hate hate hate hate getting up early.

I might be bias, but.. as someone who was homeschooled since the 4th grade, I'd say public school is better. I got very little social interaction after my parents took me out of public school. :( (but then my parents were kind of neglectful so...)

It also depends on the school, though. Some public schools are just really bad.

I think this really depends on the school. I know online school would be a better option than going to my public school but I wouldn't say the same about every public school. Online school would be nice for me though cause I like to do things at my own pace and learn lessons really fast but my parents won't let me try it. :c

#privateschool

I think home school, although socially lacking, is good in the way that you can learn at your own pace.

; n ;
Where's the private school option?

But imo public school is a much better option than homeschool. Sure you have to get up early, but just because you're homeschooled doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want.
Also when you go to public school you get to make friends and talk to people? I don't know if it's the same in homeschooling but I'd like to learn with friends or peers.

I'd say Public Schooling.
When I lived in America and barely knew any English vocabulary, it was pretty tough. But going to public schooling, for me, helped me with how to learn social skills. I know, when you take online schooling (because I have before.) or you're home schooled, you can still learn social skills, but it was easier for me to learn English and interact with other people.
I'm not saying Online Schooling/Home Schooling is bad, though. I know plenty of people who take online classes, or are home schooled, because they were either in tough social situations, or the pace is too fast for them.

There's nothing wrong with a quality public school. Public school is especially better for younger children. However, in some cases, homeschooling or online schooling is the better option.

home schooling by FAR.

my school is honestly so full of bull**** teachers it's insane. i've had to teach myself everything since 8th grade, now i get to waste time getting up and going to a building for seven hours where i learn absolutely nothing, turn around and come home and teach myself everything after school.

huge waste of time.

Well it looks like Public School is a better option for me then I guess. I'll keep this thread open though for more replies

i think public school is better for social skills, but it depends what area and neighborhood youre in

I agree with most that Public Schooling is best, since you get the human interaction that one needs to not become socially awkward ( speaking from experience ;w; ) but for me with how my school was ( I was failing at least 3/6 of my classes and I never once got the help I needed from my teachers ) Online Schooling was the best choice because now I pretty much only get A's and B's with the occasional C, and had the choice to graduate early this year.

Public School, it's awesome. Sometimes scarring, but awesome at the same time.

I'm going to be honest, homeschooling sounds a lot better, with the use of a computer that is. You get to wake up whenever you feel like it, which is good because you won't feel tired when you're doing work. You're able to submit your due work whenever you want, as long as it's on the assigned date, so some people won't feel as rushed as they normally do when doing work. I know that you don't really get to communicate with friends if you get home schooled, but I would honestly prefer to not get annoyed and distracted by other people. Usually when you graduate from school, you don't even see half of the people that are in your class. That's what happened to me. There's always the option of communicating with people online, but some people think that it's not the same as having real life friends. I can completely understand that.

I think a little bit of socializing is important for any human being. However, I wish I was home schooled. I could've focused more on my curricular activities. I kid you not, my school counselor called me in to tell me "I wasn't making enough friends", and that he's "concerned". I was like "WTF?! I'm getting A's in everything, and I'm part of after school clubs. Who cares if I don't have enough friends(according to him) and prefer to read/listen to music during my lunch break?!". I graduated with honors, but at the end of the school year I still got an ear full from my counselor about how college is different, and how important it is for humans to socialize as much as possible.
Like I said, I would've preferred to be home schooled >.<!

I would say public school even though I've been taking online classes ever since freshman year. But I had reasons why I had to take online classes since I have moved so much just for my parent's jobs. plus the school system, imo, isn't that great. I still keep in contact with my friends, go through online conferences with the teacher and other students.

I think this depends on the public school. I'm actually the same as you. My school has so much teachers who don't care, that I feel bad for the GOOD teachers because they can do so much better than this **** hole of a school. My teachers don't teach anything and when they do, it isn't in full detail which just makes learning harder for a lot of us. Half of the stuff I learn from school is thanks to Google (though, I'm not 100% sure if all the stuff I learned is true). I agree, it's a huge waste of time, the only thing good that comes out of it is practicing social skills (even those who are socially awkward can still learn about social skills). It's good for talking and negociating with people after high school when you work, especially those who plan to work professionally (like in an office and they have to attend meetings). :P Just thought I should share since I feel you.

I agree with the staying awake part since studies show that it's better if schools start later since students can't focus on school work when they're so tired. Since we need about 8 hours of sleep, we have to sleep at about 9-10pm if we needed a full nights. But that's hard since some people have outside school stuff, jobs, sports, etc. + homework and projects so people can't be able to finish all that + get a full night of sleep. :P Idk just my opinion.

Public. Especially for someone like me, who probably wouldn't get much social interaction outside school. Plus, you'd need to have super educated parents, or have the ability to hire a good tutor for homeschooling. I don't know much about online school to say anything about it.

I understand that some people need to do things at their own pace, but at the same time, deadlines are important. When you get a job in the real world, you won't be able to decide when you want to get up and when you want to submit work. Public school does teach you that.
