Googling and

>"erb" is American pronunciation

"erb" is easier to say in conversation , in my opinion , and it sounds nicer

I've always pronounced it 'erb..' I think it sounds more pleasant.

But then again I'm American XD

i say erb but thats only because the people around me used to yell at me for saying herb

just like people get mad at me for pronouncing iron differently...

I've always pronounced it with the 'h' silent, or very faint. I feel like pronouncing it with the 'h' sounds off, mainly because herb with the pronounced 'h' is also a name. Nickname, to be precise.

Herb with a clear "h" sound. I don't often hear anyone pronouncing it as "erb" in real life, but when I do it sounds absolutely bizarre.. like saying "ouse" instead of "house". It makes no sense!

i've never heard the 'h' pronounced unless it's a man's name, or if somebody's emphasizing the 'h' because they're making it clear they mean marijuana.

The word "herb" is not of English origin. This is the first i've heard that the Brits go around pronouncing the 'h.' I suppose across the pond they've decided to pronounce the 'h' in "honest," and in "hours" as well, lmao.

Compare to how you ordinarily don't hear Brits pronounce the 'h' in words like "he's," "his," "have," or "here," and it's little wonder they decided to get the 'ell out of the EU in an 'urry, 'ey! :p

Herb, whats erb?

But where I come from we take our t's away from mountain soooo

Herb with the pronunciation of the H is how I refer to someone by their name, like Herbert.

Otherwise, it's an erb.

No. The silent H in "herb" is French.

Herb. I didn't know people pronounced it without the H. Well, except for my Dad, but he drops the letter H on every word that starts with it.
