Southern Hemisphere peeps, did you have a Halloween event with Jack?? One person was complaining that the game focuses on event updates for the Northern Hemisphere and when the fall update comes, it'll be spring in the SH so they won't get to be apart of it or they'll have sakura and pumpkin things. I didn't see any talk about Jack on here so that post got me thinking. I'd be pretty annoyed if only one hemisphere got all the updates and I'd have to wait for it.

When is spring for southern hemisphere? Because if it's going to be spring for you guys, then you won't be missing out with Jack. Both hemispheres get the same updates.

Halloween is in october.

They'll update it for Halloween then, I guess.

Oh wait, I'm real dumb lol. I assumed this event can only take place in fall but I guess the world doesn't work that way haha cause October is spring in the SH (right???) So they probably won't have to wait. Whoopse

Yep, tis spring here in Australia in october. :)

I mean, I'm guessing Southern hemisphere got Bunny Day in their fall, didn't they? Correct me if I'm wrong?

But, yah, those events should still fall on the holiday regardless of whether the season fits the stereotypical season associated with the holiday. The only differences are gonna be with things like cherry blossom and mushroom season and stuff. Those aren't related to holidays, after all.

Easter is Easter (April) no matter where you are. :)

I am curious about what southern hemisphere think but typically when I see these threads it is made by a northern hemisphere player worried for the southern hemisphere player. If they do response to the thread they split on if they care or not.

It depends if the holiday is season based or month based. Cherry Blossom will always happen in the Spring no matter the month, Acorns will happen in Autumn/Fall no matter the month. As mention above Easter is Easter it is typically March or April based no season, Halloween is October no matter season. Christmas is always December no matter the season. So and So.

uh?? Jack??? I TT to October quite a bit and haven't seen it. Is it an exclusive southern hemi thing?
No. Nintendo are doing holidays and the like, as updates.

They didn't want people getting stuff early or some such rubbish.

It should've been part of the base game, but it isn't.

That's what I figured, and same with Halloween, but then I saw this post and was like... well, I guess I can't say FOR SURE 😂
Haha yeah I think I got confused by what the twitter person said then my brain was like "Halloween is in the fall!!!" Plus other Animal crossing games were only northern hemisphere based right?? So I was like aww man that sucks that they have to wait for fall when they just had it but there's no April 31st so that wouldn't work lol

got it. I would've love more halloween items. It's so lacking and finding stuff to fill the haunted house was such a challenge.

Holidays are tied to months rather than season. I think it's really hard to remember that for most if not everyone up north because we tie in our seasons with the holiday itself. You see it alot in marketing, tv and movies. Really makes me curious on how those in the south think about all the Christmas and Halloween movies/specials where snow and autumn leaves are a huge part of the spirit of those holidays.

Eh it seems to be a common misconception! I can understand it, as someone who moved from US to Australia, it really is weird to experience Christmas in the summer lmao
It's equally weird/horrid being an Aussie and having to suffer unnatural snow during what should be summer, at Christmas.
