How do you guys protect your flowers? I have a bunch of random plots of all flowers on my land and I don't want to move them all (tbh) but I don't want them to die and I've been cycling villagers a bit which isn't the smartest move now that I think about it. But now I have a lot of hybrids and planted some on the beach but not enough space for everything. For others I put some near public works projects but not sure how close to PWPs a house can spawn -- so .. any advice?

I generally grid my entire town with patterns to prevent villager move ins in undesirable places, so I don't have to worry too much.

Get a good path system going. Choose a nice qr path and begin plotting where you want houses. Having a good path helps stop villagers moving on top of your lovely hybrids. Just make sure you don't have any spaces that are 3x3 because houses can move into those little spaces. Good luck!

And to add to what everyone else said, make good use of plot reseting if you suspect a villager might move in.

i usually just plot reset. i also have spare hybrids in case i need to replace any, so maybe you could try to grow some backup flowers?
also, villagers can't move on patterns since the WA update, so you could probably find a way to use those to your advantage, too. i don't know how though, sorry

I stocked my villagers first before doing much in the way of landscaping. I didn't really know how to plot set (I knew about it, but wasn't that great at it) until my last two villagers moved in (both amiibo cards). Except for one, all my villagers plotted in a couple of lines, which made things easy.
Once I had them in place, I started planting flowers, trees, and bushes, as well as building PWPs. I don't anticipate anyone moving, so I know my layout.

There must be at least 2 spaces between a villager's house and any pwp or other building. So you can safely put two rows of flowers around any buildings or pwps.
