Help with Plot Setting ;w;

Since you said you loaded the game as mayor, you can't plot reset anymore. He's gonna be there in front of your house until he moves. The reason people don't load the main character(or existing characters) is because when the game starts, it loads the town by saving. So since you've done that part, you can't go back. Your town's saved as having Zell in front of your house. TTing backwards will only place his house and allow him to move in so either way he'll be in that spot. Sorry. Btw, it doesn't matter how many villagers you have, you can plot reset as long as the existing characters are not being used to open the game. Just turning off the game is fine for plot resetting, no need for the whole system to be powered off.

oh i see now . and i get all the TT stuff xD i just wanna know which one is better , turning off the system or closing the game .

Unfortunately as others have said, Zell is there forever. When you load your game, it saves your towns "start up" state; and since you loaded up as Mayor, it saved. You can't TT back, I've tried that when Chief moved in and he moved so far away from everyone ;v;

as in if you get a villager and you want to TT to the next day to plot reset, just change the time on your DS :- )

I was so nervous during my first time at plot resetting, which was for Rosie. Turned out well though ^o^ so hopefully in the future you know what to do

i don't think it's better? I've tried it with just closing the system and I got it perfectly in less than 5 tries before..its random..and just closing the game is faster.

I've heard rumors villagers tend to cycle through a few different areas when plotting, and that if you turn off your 3DS and turn it back on it'll randomly pick a set of locations again to cycle through. I'm not sure if that's true or not, however.

Thank you everyone for helping ! I'll be a little busy TT and ignoring Zell for a week xDD

Good luck with getting Zell out though, unless you get used to him since he's a cutie and you wanna keep him anyways lol
btw, setting the clock thing is actually unnecessary, as long as you know that a plot is supposed to be there the next day,,don't open the game with an existing character and you'll be able to plot reset, no need to keep track of time, just the fact that it's their move in day. Plot resetting all depends, sometimes it can take a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, sometimes even days, so even though they might have been able to do it in 5 tries with closing the system it all depends. Villagers are also more inclined to move in where previous villagers used to be, so that could have also been a factor, so it's all really random. The shortest time I did was one reset for Ed since Phoebe used to be in that exact same spot, but I closed the game, so it doesn't matter either way.

Yeah, Rosie was my first since my villagers actually chose good spots to put their houses before I knew about plot resetting. I've only plot reset for two villagers though, the first one Rosie and the second was for Phoebe. Phoebe only took two tries though, so I guess I've been lucky xD

I don't know if anyone has said this but ignoring a villager usually doesn't work. I've tried that method before and when you say okay to them leaving they change their minds because they want to know you better.

yeah, but if they do that just reset the game, log back in. when they ping you don't talk to them since you already know their move out date.

well the ignoring method is actually , talking to them once , ignore them but talk to all the villagers except that one villager you want to let go . it worked for me on Jacques earlier so i can trade him for Marshal , and it took me like 3 days ouo) so idno .

Just a heads up that it might be harder for you to do this if the villager you're trying to get out is your 10th villager. I tried this out with Whitney and she never budged :c
