Help with ds please (NOW SOLVED)

Hi guys,

i need some help with my sons ds.

He has been having problems playing new games on his ds, he has the 2ds, all his old games work fine but new ones come up with a message saying " write protection is enabled on the sd card, the software on the sd card cannot be displayed"

i have tried everything possible to get this to work, i would appreciate any help in trying to fix this problem even if it means wiping everything.

turn off the 3ds, remove the SD card

have you tried a different SD card? there might be a problem with the one you have now

Maybe the SD is full?

yea iv tried a different sd card still says the same, wouldnt know how to check if its full, it came with the ds but he only has a few games.

Perhaps the contacts for the SD card slot has become eroded or dirty?

Have you flipped the switch on the other SD cards as well? If it's happening with more than one SD Card and writing protection is off then maybe there is a problem with the reader itself. How long ago did you buy the 3DS? Nintendo might be able to repair it for you

problem fixed i you tubed the problem and the bloke said to put a bit of tape round the switch as it might not be being read properly and its worked, the sd card is working fine now and my son can now play his new pokemon game
