Help me move in an amiibo villager please! (CLOSED)

Hi! So now that the Sanrio villagers are out and all that (I apologize if I'm mistaken) I'm gonna be moving Toby onto my island! I've had his card for awhile now and he's one of my favorites!

I invited him to my campsite (mind you this is my first time inviting an amiibo in new horizons). But things didn't go as expected...he asked me to make him some log stakes, which I did, and then wouldn't talk about anything else. He just kept repeating the same three strings of dialogue. I know that the amount of villagers on your island doesn't affect campers anymore so I'm not certain what the issue is.

I've looked up online about this, but I'm getting conflicting results (some say invite him for three days while others say to just keep talking to him) so I thought it would be best to ask here. Thank you for any help!

You have to invite him three days in a row and craft what he wants before he’ll move in.

Yes kind of the same! Except this time the items go directly to the villager and they don’t keep them haha.
