Hey there!
So, I'm finally starting to get a general idea of how I want my town to be.
However, I'm finding it incredibly tough to piece together a plan for the interior of my house.
If any of you have any tips for making a room come together and look nice and unbland, I'd really, really appreciate them.
If not, feel free to post a pic of how your interior is looking at the moment!
Visual inspiration is always appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance :p

I usually start with what I want the room to be, then start gathering pieces I think will fit. It doesn't need to all be from the same series, although that's a good place to start. Try changing the colors on furniture, too; something might not work in original form, but one of Cyrus' remakes could change it completely. (I feel that way about the patchwork series. I don't care for the original, but the reds and beige work perfectly in my home office.)

Sometimes finding the right wallpaper and flooring combo (again, doesn't have to be from the same series) can set the tone. Are you looking for light and airy? Warm and cozy? Sleek and sophisticated? Throw a bunch of combinations up and see what you like. Doing that took my kitchen in a completely different direction. :)

Once the "bones" are in place, I think what makes a room pop are the little items on tables, in corners, displayed here and there. Things that reflect you or your character (if they are different) that make it look like someone really lives there. Do you craft? Maybe the coloring set, yarn basket, easel, or sewing machine next to a chair could convey that. Bookworm? Bookcases, of course, but maybe some stacks of books or a typewriter (so you can write that next best seller!).

Sorry for the long post. I guess I got a little carried away. It can take a long time to get your house the way you want it, but that's part of the fun. Having it evolve over time lets you show your interests and how they also evolve. Be sure to post some pictures of your place! :D

I agree with the above post; try to narrow down what theme you want for each room and what you want to accomplish. It also helps to list out your fave items so figure out a way to incorporate them into your house!

For my entry room, I made like a "magical plant sanctuary" <3

I usually don't like overly matching walls/floors but everyone is different and these work well for this specific room as well. It's so much fun when you really pour yourself into a room; you're gonna be so proud when you finish! Please post pics when you're done; I'd love to see what you come up with

I've also posted pics of my mayor's bedroom and moon-viewing rooms here if you need more inspo:

Also, I'm a super visual person so I totally understand why pictures can help stimulate the mind more lol.
I have no idea if I have a limit of how many pics I can post but I totally post like multiple screenies a day :'p

Ahh your rooms are all so lovely! Especially the first two pics you attached to your post, I LOVE how mystical and fairytale-esque it looks! Plus, I'm an absolute sucker for an overload of plants in a room lol.

Awh, thank you so much <3
That's how the room came to exist, actually lol. I just wanted as many of my fave plants in one room as possible! What are you thinking of doing with your entry room atm?

Yeah, I think general theme is really good; even if it’s, say, like wanting to do a kitchen or bathroom. I usually just kind of start getting items I think are good for it, then throwing them in there. You can usually find out pretty fast what you don’t want in the room, haha.

Just kind of start with that: kitchen, outdoor tearoom, mystical guest bedroom, etc. Then, start putting items you like and maybe look for items you don’t gravitate towards, and put them in there too. I didn’t think adding Pav? furniture to one of my rooms would work, but it’s actually really beautiful and now it’s one of my favorite furniture sets. :>

You're welcome!
Currently im gravitating towards a very dreamy, princessy fairytale home/town, as in light pastels and stuff like that, without being too childish.

Thank you! Outdoor tea room sounds like an adorable idea, tbh.
