Are these incredibly rare? I tried to find them on palm trees, but they never appeared except the first day of the month. I'm trying to get a model of them from Flick.

Plant more palm trees, chase off any other bugs you see, approach all your palm trees slowly and carefully! You could also try to find a good mystery island that you can cut down, pluck & clear most of the foliage on the island but leave the palm trees and run around chasing off bugs until some goliaths spawn.

I found a couple recently. My suggestion would be to go to a Nook Miles island, remove all trees that aren't palm trees, and try to remove as many flowers from the island as possible. I would say that getting the bamboo island would simplify this since bugs don't land on bamboo or left over stumps.

Honestly, it really just comes down to luck. The first two weeks of this month, I could not find these bugs at all, but this was also due to the fact that my island barely had any palm trees. However, a few nights ago, I had three just spawn within a timeframe of an hour. Two of them actually spawned on the same palm tree.

Just keep running around your island, but obviously you will increase your chances if you have more palm trees around. Going on a mystery island is also a good idea, especially if you cut everything down and leave the palm trees - it would maximize the potential for them to spawn the most. :)

I keep getting them on the palms at the bottom of my island, so I tend to scare them off, accidentally. It's the last thing I need for this month, I think. I may go to an island and see if I can't have better luck where I can cut everything down except a couple of palms up high, so I can see them.

I hsve quite a lot of palmtrees so it was relatively easy. A bit of an open door piece of advice, but try to check the trees you can approach from the front and if there are no bugs there, go in and out of a building. Ofcourse using a nook miles ticket is an even better method. You can controll the spawn possibilities there.

They seem to be a lot more common on mystery tours, but mainly because you can clear things out to focus on the palm trees.

They are pretty rare on your main island, but since the other summer beetles aren't here yet in June, it lessens the pool.

Yes. Tried going to a NM island. It worked, but was annoying because the fireflies were spawning like crazy. I also got another type of beetle (fire something?), atlas moths, etc. It was really fun. It's probably better on islands with no rivers, since fireflies spawn near water.

I had no idea fireflies spawned near rivers. I caught a rainbow stag on one of the mystery island. I'm curious about that beetle. I can't find anything with the word fire in it except the fireflies.

yea, it's the rainbow stag. Not a fire beetle, lol. I didn't see stags on my regular island, so it was pretty cool to find one on a nook mile island.

I haven't found any yet, and I always figured that a Mystery Island would work best for them.

Even with the abundance of coconut trees on my island I had no luck spawning goliath beetles. Went on a mystery island, picked all the flowers, chopped every tree except the coconuts, and found all the beetles in there by doing laps. Even caught a mosquito which almost never spawns on my island.

I've only found one rainbow stag. I think Goliath beetles are more common, but RNG isn't the same for everybody, either. I hope you have success in finding more Goliath beetles.

I went villager hunting yesterday and caught 5 arapaima , like 15 shark types (fin island) and tons of beetles! mystery tours r best!

If you want to find one on your own island, I would wait until it's raining. Right now, the fireflies take up a large majority of the nighttime bug spawns so the rare bugs are more rare than they should be. Either that or just wait until next month when the fireflies go away. I found 2 of them yesterday and 4 rainbow stags within an hour or so when it was raining yesterday (way more than I usually find).
