Help D: My only dreamie moved away.

If you already loaded up an existing character, there's nothing you can do. The game saves as you load an existing character, so it doesn't matter if you turned it off without saving.

What you could have done was start a new save file, check to see if there were any villagers who moved out, and then time traveled backwards in time. Or you could have just time traveled back to the last day you played, and they would still be in town. But you'd have to have done all that before starting as your mayor/any alternate characters.

if you decide to cycle 16 villagers to get her back, you should get a friend or someone to visit your town; they might pick up your villager via Streetpass from your void pool and then they can hold them for you while you cycle.

The only defense you have against coming back after extended periods of not playing is to TT back to the day you last played and save. Then TT day by day (or every other day) back to the current date. That's the only way to check for move outs and reset if they occur. For future reference.

You can do the 16-villager cycle and try to get him back, so don't lose hope just yet.

As to preventing this problem in the future, when you're going back after some time of not playing it's a good idea to start a new side character (instead of loading with your mayor or a side character). After you've gone through the train sequence and the character is given a town map by Porter, you can use it to check if anyone's gone, and then quit without saving. If someone is gone, set your 3DS clock to the date you last played (and make sure it's on an hour that is later from the one you last saved on, too, otherwise it counts as a day forward), load the game as your mayor, and go talk to the missing villager until they mention moving. If they don't, save, quit, then load again as your mayor until they either ping you or tell you they're moving in a conversation. Tell them to stay, then set your 3DS clock back to your present date, and it should be safe enough to load as your mayor. You can also use the "new and unsaved side character just to check first" thing again if you want to be on the safe side.

Also, if you're planning on abandoning the game for a long time, deny a villager's request to move on your last day playing the game. It helps.

(If you're unsure of when you last played, by the way, you can usually check in your 3DS activity log.)

If you want, you could reset your town and search for Sprinkle, since she's your only dreamy you had in town. :P Unless you've put a lot of work and bells into your town, I'd just do that.

Holy crap, thank you so much for posting this. I was just getting worried about this the other day, after working for months to acquire so many of my dreamies I would have to lose them now that I'm getting a full time job next week (and thus probably won't be able to play everyday.)

THANK YOU!

Try to move out 16 villagers in your town. Old ones or new ones it doesn't matter and finally when you do buy your dreamie back :)

No problem! I can't always play every day either, so I just do that and it works for me. :)
