Help! Can't Pick Things Up Properly

So a few minutes ago I started decorating my upstairs room. I started by placing a table and a TV in the middle of the room to create some form of seating area surrounded by decorations, but I didn't like how it was turning out so I picked the table and TV back up.

However, now whenever I place anything down in the same spot, it doesn't let me pick it back up again using Y!! I can pick up items around the edge of the room but not the middle.

I can use the room designer mode to pick them up, but that isn't really the point. It wasn't like this before so now I'm just scared I've broken my game.

I've tried closing the game and turning it back on but it made no difference. Please help.

did the glitch happen to you or did you actually try doing the glitch thing before (on purpose)?
there's a "glitch" right now they haven't patched it, you can clear the room by removing everything and place empty tables on that area. if you leave the room and return, and you see an item suddenly on top of it, you had a glitch happen. just put them back in your inventory via designer mode. you should be good for the next time you put items on it or want to pick them up.
