Help! - Bugs, mystery island, and date changes

A friend still needs 3 bugs that go away in August. If she goes to a mystery island at 11:00 pm, will the date change at midnight? I've seen something about putting your game in sleep mode and the time doesn't change. Or something like that.

it will but from what i’ve gathered, mystery islands tend to freeze at whatever time you got there. so while the calendar and time will still change, if your friend arrives at the mystery island at 11pm on august 31st, the game will still act like that’s what time it still is until she leaves the island ;;

So she shouldn't go at 10:45 to start clearing the island if she needs bugs that show up at 11:00.
