Greetings, folks

I am Scherzo, and I used to play quite a lot at the AC series when I was a teenager. I'm a French student and I'm 23, and I decided to start a new game of New Leaf a few days ago, which motivated me to come back to this forum again, since I had a very nice experience here. My hobbies are music, literature, videogames - obviously -, and travelling. My first AC game was Wild World, then I played at City Folks, and New Leaf.

I am not much of a talker, I usually want to trade / buy stuff if I can afford it, but I'm sure I'll enjoy this forum as much as I did when I played at my previous game of AC:NL. That's about all!

I've not played New Leaf, but I've heard so many good things! Did you ever consider getting a Switch or New Horizons? Also, what sort of literature do you like?

Well yes, New Leaf is definitely a good game! And no, I never considered buying a Switch nor New Horizons, though I may do it at some point!
I enjoy mostly French and English literature, but I'm quite curious about everything! I used to learn African and Canadian literature for my studies, it's a little bit different but still very enjoyable

i recently started a new game of new leaf as well! it's my favourite game out of the series, and i so enjoy buying new copies and starting new towns. it brings back a lot of good memories and nostalgia, and is refreshing to have that feeling when starting another town and having at it all over again.

Yes, that's exactly the same feeling I have when I start all over again! I recently discovered my old copy of Wild World, I didn't know I could feel so nostalgic because of a game

I am sure of it! I already met nice folks at that time, who helped me a lot with my former town. I have already witnessed forms of friendship and kindness today, I can say this forum is as good as it once was

My starting villagers were Goose, Pippy, Knox, Maple and Olivia. I just got Olaf yesterday and Egbert this morning though. I used to love the company of Ruby and Whitney when they were in my previous town, but Olivia and Maple are really good too. Since I don't know how "trading villagers" work - and since I don't want to TT in this town -, I think I am doomed not to have Ruby and Whitney again!

Those seem like a fun bunch! I had Knox in my New Leaf town myself. ^^
If you decide you want to trade for Ruby and Whitney again, you can adopt them from another player as long as you have 9 or less villagers (and no one moving in), and then visit the town of someone with the villager you want in boxes, preparing to move out. Then you can invite them to move into your town by talking to them in their house. There's a few shops in the Villager Trading Plaza that let you request most villagers, too, with no TT necessary on your part.
If not though, maybe you'll still cross paths with them again! c: I got lucky with a couple random move-ins and campsite villagers back in my New Leaf town.

Well, maybe I will try "buying" Ruby or Whitney soon, since I still have some room for them, and whenever a villager leaves I'll get the other.. thank you for the advice!

I used to play quite a lot at ACNL when I was still in college and high school (in French : collège and lycée, from about 11 to 18 years old), but when I went to University I stopped playing. I had a nice town, it had been a Perfect town for several months. I remember that I chose a Japanese / Zen theme at that time, with my house being a Japanese castle. It was a person from this forum who traded the whole furniture set, by the way. I don't know if I want to do a themed town again, though. I guess I'll see as my town grows up!

Out of curiosity, were you into collecting the in-game badges back then?

I feel like the 3ds eshop news has made me panic and go after the wi-fi related badges as quickly as possible

Not particularly, though I wanted to have the Bank-related badges at all costs, as a "revenge" from Nook's rents
