Head Cannon relationships between villagers? Anyone else do this?

My head canon is Billy has a crush on Marina, and it took a while but I think Marina knows that now - both of them have now sent me to deliver gifts to each other. The last one was Marina sending an apology gift to Billy because of something she said to him, so now they're repairing their I presume still-friendship. They've never hung out or anything beyond that. I suspect Marina friendzoned him. Poor Billy, you'll find love someday sweetie.

Bubbles and Spike seem to have a thing going. I don't like it because I want Bubbles gone and Spike is okay but still definitely temporary. I like to think they know I want her gone so they're holding onto each other tighter. Which I understand, and it's kinda romantic, but... well then both of y'all can go be happy together on another island, yeah? Maybe you'll cross paths again someday?

I think Billy might've tried to hit on Ursala a little before Marina moved in, but then again they really seem to just be more like good friends. They're my starters, so they are the pillars of Espera and I think of them as my shadow representatives. Whenever I see them talking or hanging out (which is often) I think they're discussing major island news and decisions, like they run the homeowner's association here or smth. It's fun.

Marcie for sure is definitely our island mom. She's always thinking about others and wishing us the best. She's also the perfect combination of gentle but firm, she frequently is the one bringing the Smugs and Jocks back down to earth when they get a little too wild. But that being said, she's always willing to indulge in the interests of others. She asks the most about our hobbies and wants to get in on the gossip, even if it's old news, haha.

By extension, Octavian is the island dad. He and Marcie get on really well and much like her, he's always wondering what everyone else is up to. Even if he doesn't "get" what's up, he wants to humor me and other villagers if it'll make us smile. He's a sweetie, reminds me of my own dad honestly. He's also more perceptive than he lets on. Octavian comes off as the "out of touch old guy" but he's always the first to notice when I change my hair or pick out new clothes, even if he "doesn't have an eye for that kinda thing". Cool dude all around.

Marina is really, really sassy for a Normal, it's hilarious. It surprises me how often she slam dunks and lowkey shades other villagers. Definitely one of those "beware the quiet ones" types.

This one goes back to New Leaf, but part of why I want Julian on my island so bad is because in my NL town, he and Colton were neighbors. They were just the cutest friends, it bordered often times on romantic with how often they talked about one another, gave each other gifts almost exclusively (crazy RNG right?) and visited each other's houses. I also find it cute how they share similar interests and have complimentary tastes in clothes and furniture. One also dreams to be a model, the other a hair stylist. It's like they're a match made in heaven. So, hopefully, I can find Julian someday and reunite him with Colton. Hahah.

• daisy is kinda just out there doing her own thing, so she doesn’t appear to interact with anyone. she’s actually very neighborly, though.

• agnes and molly have bonded over flowers. i see them watering the plants a LOT.

• daisy and molly are starting to bond, i think. they visited each other today and both of them were reading and complimenting each other. maybe they will start a book club and invite agnes?

• i swear my two squirrels—marshal and sheldon—are either best friends or boyfriends. they live across the island from each other, but i always see them interacting outside, and they visit each other a LOT. once, sheldon was singing in the plaza, and marshal sat down to watch him. then, a few hours later, they lifted weights together. it was so darn cute.

• antonio and butch have lifted weights together on many occasions. i think antonio fancies himself butch’s personal trainer, but to butch, he’s just someone to work out with so that he doesn’t look weird doing it alone.

• i HC that my antonio has memory loss/amnesia bc i’ve had him 3 separate times. VERY LONG STORY.

• Cally and Filbert have an on and off relationship. They go study trees and flowers together, eat together and hang out at their homes one day and the other they don't interact at all. My best guess is that Cally wants something more from Filbert, but Filbert being the laziest squirrel on earth he is, doesn't get her signs and she gets angry with him.
• Olivia and Cally have a sisterly relationship. Olivia always gives Cally fashion advices!!
• Eugene and Olivia are pop star friends-enemies, they always fight for being the loudest while singing
• Shari always seems high and works out a lot, her personal trainer is Antonio, I'm starting to worry she is training too much
• Chevre emits mom energy and loves to bake, she also writes cooking books
• Apple has a poppin instagram and she is a celebrity
• Apple and Cally are absolute comic book and show nerds together, they gush about them always. they also always confuse Tom, bc he doesn't watch any tv shows
• Tom is the handsome next-door boy, he stays back a bit, but somehow is good friends with everyone on the island, he is interested in cars
• Ketchup seems v outgoing, but is actually very very shy and doesn't have that many friends, she also sews dresses
• Apple is a femme lesbian icon 100%

--Fang and Queenie act like surrogate grandparents to Skye, more specifically Fang offers advice to Skye while Queenie and Skye trade recipes. Mess with her, and you're gonna catch these hands.
--Flip does like exercise, like any other jock, but he has a bad habit of falling asleep mid-workout based on how much I've caught him sleeping.
--Pietro can sing literally any song at maximum speed. The other villagers place bets over if he ends up tripping over his words, more often than not the person who bet he would ends up losing.
--Tammi and Fang has a sort of unspoken competition over who can catch the most bugs. The problem is that they both can't catch bugs for anything. Egbert tried to be a spectator to this, but he was politely asked to stay away because he scared away bugs while he was trying to talk to them.
--Renee acts all tough, but she's a total sucker for soft pastel colors. She's also brutally honest, don't ask her for opinions if you don't want to hear her state it so bluntly. She tends to get into fights over this.
--You'd think Coach and Flip would be rivals based on their jock status, but no, they just happily vibe with each other and lift weights.
--Eugene is the cool dude of the island, he's the one who's the show-off. He's tried to win over the hearts of the ladies of the island, but he's failed all of the times he's tried. Still, he's a blast to have at parties, he's the one who knows how to really do a rave.
--Pietro is much more chill, he's barely even considered smug outside of making sure his colorful fleece is clean.

Raymond and Marshal. Deadass the very first couple in my island. They talk about each other, they never are away from each other. To the point I'm holding their wedding soon once Wedding Season arrives.

Cherry and Jacques because they're the same with Ray and Marsh but they feel like a very long-time friend thing who just started dating.

Cheri and Snake, one sided for Snake but I think Cheri's warming up towards him.

Diana and Fang, totally like Kaguya and Shirogane (from Kaguya: Love is War anime) in terms of tension. They like each other but pride is stopping them from admitting it. It's so hilarious.

my personal one is about eugene. he knows that i want him off of my island and how i (personally) find him ugly, and he is literally one of the three villagers (the other one being marina and broffina) who constantly sings in front of residential services and around the island. he also somehow manages to come up to my house which is at the top of my island, on the third level, when his house is at the bottom of my island on the first level. to add to that, i have a swinging bench next to my house and he's been sitting on my property, drinking his lemonade. i swear he is trolling me, but in a strange way i have grown to like/hate eugene. i still wouldn't hesitate if he wanted to leave though

It's not villager on villager but I think Julian has a crush on my friend Chadwick. He brings him up ALL THE TIME. Despite how little or more he visits. Despite if he talks to him or not. Despite how many other people visit my island or talk to him, JULIAN HAS A THING FOR CHAD!!! It got so excessive I started taking pictures and sending them to him. lol
When Savannah was in my town, she was the same way with my boyfriend. She talked about him often and how she should have asked if he needed a snack. He's never even talked to her! I'd have people over all the time for trades or shopping or exploring... but she just wanted to talk about him. We are bday buddies so I just think she was trying to replace me...

I only have one romantic relationship headcanon right now, and that's Puddles and Gladys. They're next-door neighbors and I swear everytime I check to see if Puddles is crafting, Gladys is at her house! I think they would be so cute together, shy and reserved Gladys with her exuberant, bubbly girlfriend Puddles!

And as for other, platonic relationships:
- Prince and Joey are best friends, they go to the playground together and pretend to be airplanes.
- Katt and Rasher are the cool aunt and uncle of my island respectively
- Judy and Audie are kind of frenemies, they get into arguments a lot for some reason and I just think it's funny if they sort of have a rivalry going on?
- Sprocket and Gladys have a secret book club (because of a conversation they had about Sprocket strengthening his brain muscles and Gladys recommending him some books)

Rosie and Murphy are next door neighbors and she is always visiting him, in fact she is almost the only one that visits him. I like to think of him as some sort of mentor to her that keeps her out of trouble. If i get Curt, i am gonna place his house next to Olive so he can be her cranky uncle and look after her. Oh, and everyone dislikes my jock villager, or maybe that is just me projecting XD

- julian and colton are definitely dating! its quite frankly 90% of why i let colton move in in the first place
- marina and zucker might also be a couple, its crazy how much they hang out. i always catch them singing or walking by the beach together, and ugh, my heart just melts

- julian seems to be pretty good friends with cookie, which doesnt surprise me because both of them wanna take over the world by storm
- canberra is SO over cookie despite being her neighbour! i think she does care for her, in her own sisterly way, but whenever they talk she just seems annoyed

- dobie has kind of taken cookie and stitches under his wing; stitches and him are at eachothers houses like 24/7, and he seems super protective over cookie despite being annoyed with her love of pop culture (he got concerned when she said something was "to die for" once, poor old man)
- zucker and stitches seem to be talking more and more ever since i moved stitches down to the southern half of the island. they always talk about food and which vacations they wanna take, its actually adorable, especially because they seem to act quite different from eachother despite having the same personality type

I have went through all the stages of grief for him and finally just kind of accepted my defeat. idk what is up, but I think our Eugenes are clones or twins, because they're so similar with the trolling thing

Finally! Somewhere to share my ridiculous story.

Ankha and Leopold were inseparable when he was on my island, and I was like ‘okay they’re a thing.’ And loved it. I reworked my entire dreamie list to keep him on the island for Ankha while being ashamed of how invested I was in their ‘relationship’. It was really cute how they would talk about one another, and sit in the garden, visit one another and all that... anyway! A few weeks later I bought Bruce’s amiibo card and put him in game. Suddenly Leopold and Ankha don’t hang out, there was no sitting in the garden. I’ve been busy with my flowers honestly so I didn’t think much of it. Another few days pass and Leopold asks me to move out and I’m like NO. You sir are betrothed to Ankha.

That same day I went to check on my dear friend Ankha, only to find Bruce sitting on her golden toilet and I gasped, I was shook. How could this have happened? I ended up letting Leopold move out because this was clearly a tragedy, and idc what anyone says it was the biggest scandal to ever hit Blossom. I loved every minute.

here's the breakdown of it all:
marshal and audie are bffls in my island, since they've been here the longest. they're always talking to each other, and audie is apparently always making him delicious (microwavable) dinner/lunch. i thought it was cute, like aww they're really getting along together.

but then new girl, molly, moves in as marshal's new neighbor, and now marshal is always talking to molly. they're adorable together, and i can see marshal forming a crush on the duck next door, but poor audie is now left in the dust. i don't see audie and marshal's relationship anything but platonic, but marshal is getting so wound up with molly that he's completely ignoring his best friend! now audie is always talking to whitney and muffy, both who can't handle how energetic she is. neither of them can keep up with audie's fantasies, and now it's only a matter of time before they're going to have to intervene and beg marshal to stop ignoring her so they don't have to listen to her being a pop star. and no one even knows how molly feels about marshal!!

meanwhile, fang has been making moves on whitney. the "grumpy" old wolf can't help but fall for her charms. he's been sending her yellow flowers (i forgot which ones), and whitney even comments that she's surprised that he's sending her those types of flowers, because apparently they specifically mean "love". i've seen fang hang out at whitney's house once and twice, and i thought that the two wolf villagers in my town were going to get together. it would've worked if mr. steal-your-girl, raymond, didn't suddenly move in and started to show an interest in whitney too. he's been coming over to her house lately, and i'm starting to get worried on fang's behalf. whitney doesn't seem to take him as seriously as fang, but you never know what's going to happen. muffy, once again, is stuck being the shoulder to cry on as she's bringing fang out to other towns so he can stop worrying.

tl:dr - these newbies are ruining relationships (platonic and budding romance), muffy is tired of being the tissue for these lonely villagers, and genji, maple, stitches, and i are just watching this mess on the sideline with popcorn.
