From what I've been seeing lately, it seems like everyone has restarted their town at least once. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but as someone who's had the same town since the game came out, it's sort of odd to see how many people are so experienced with choosing maps! (Maybe I just misunderstood something, though.)

New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game. I had no idea I could choose a map at the beginning. I love the town map I have right now, but I wish there weren't so many rocks and ponds. They're always in my way! But yeah, I have never restarted and I am not planning on ever doing that! I am thinking about getting another game though, so I can have another town. :3
(btw, I'm not judging people who do want to restart their town.)

Restarted, only due to breaking my original cart with my town I'd spent 500 hours on. Took me a year to start a new game, I will stick with this town now until either a new game comes out or it breaks again ! I don't villager cycle, I don't plot reset and I don't time travel so it keeps everything fresh

I have never reset my main town, I couldn't do it. I've reset my second town once I think for a better layout and my cycle town a few times.

Never restarted mine and I don't plan to. I got my game near release. But I do plan on getting a second copy sometime in the future because I want a fresh town to see if I can make it better than Wakuwaku (my town) but noooo not even daring to restart my first town!

I restarted a bunch of times in WW, but never in NL! And I never will. If I want a new town, I'll buy another cartridge.

I've had my main town for a year and a half and have never restarted, wouldn't dream of it. Then again I was pretty lucky to get a decent map despite the fact that I had no idea what I was doing when I started.

I did reset my side town recently for a better layout (there wasn't really anything wrong with the one I had, it just wouldn't work with the way I wanted to landscape it). I wasn't too attached to that town anyway since I only really played it for about two weeks before ditching it for three months lol.

Not my first/main town! I had thought about it for a while but ended up just getting a second copy to play around on. I've reseted that one quite a few times but things are going good in my latest town.

I've reset twice so far. It's worth it if you were unhappy with your map or just wanted a fresh start, but I really miss my old town because I had mostly everything unlocked. I guess that's the fun of the game though! I can't wait to unlock the island so I can get more bells...

Yes i reset Astoria about 10 minutes before 2015 rolled in after i got all of the villagers i wanted to keep with holders and i don't plan on resetting again unless something goes wrong and i lose a few villagers i like

Nope not restarted ever. I was vaguely tempted to restart my second town once I realised it had the same type of map as my first town but I just couldn't do it

I've restarted my town 3 times. I actually just restarted it again last night. I was able to chose a map that I really like and I even got some really cute villagers to start off with. This will (hopefully) be the last time I restart.

I have, many times. I still regret restarting my first town doe, it was ugly AF buy I really enjoyed the game :c

Like others, I didn't know there were more than four maps to choose from and I'm not entirely happy with my map or my perma-PWPs, but I could never bring myself to reset. All of my hard work would be gone and all of my villagers...I know it's weird and I know I could get them back eventually, but I decided to just make it as good as possible.

Plus I did buy a second copy of the game and I originally planned to slowly move most of my villagers from my main town over, but I decided to just have two towns. My main town, Balamb, is going to be more of a "city-esque" town and my new town, Bunifrey, is going to have a woodsy, foresty kinda theme.

I didn't even think restarting was a thing until I joined this site
I never restarted mine and I ain't gonna. I like to see what I can do with what I've got ^^
So far so good!

I have restarted my town, numerous amounts of times.
Way to many to even count.
I want to reset right now, because I really want Croque as my starting villager...
But I'm not sure, if I should...I just keep resetting...Blugh! I don't know.

Yes, I have restarted. I do, however, remember every single thing about my first town, except for the grass pattern, because I didn't know that that changed, too.
