Have you had any luck with birthday presents for the new villagers?

I was curious about this. Maddie's birthday is tomorrow, and I'm wondering what to give her. I think it's kind of fun to try and pick something based on what you think they might like, as opposed to just looking up their preferred style and color. At the same time, I do want to give my villagers things they'll like! Have any of you given birthday gifts to the villagers new to the update that they really loved?

I'll also try to buy the items that don't look good in the house when I visit them/they offer buying something I like.

I didn't realize they had much of a reaction to the gifts you gave them for their birthday, though, so I'll be following this thread.

Yeah, I haven't had any luck with the Internet. I have heard that there are new guidebooks out in Japan that have info about the new villagers and their preferred styles, but I don't think that info has made it over here translated. Hopefully soon!

I couldn't tell how well I did with Maddie today, honestly. She seemed happy, but she's peppy personality so she is mostly happy lol. I know that it's really obvious when you give them something they don't like, though, bc of their reaction haha.

For anyone who is curious, I went with a dapper skirt for Maddie, and she seemed to like it. I'll update this on the 16th when it's Ursala's birthday and I have to choose something for her. Please feel free to add any info you have!

Lol! I remember with my very first town when the game came out, before I knew there were preferred gifts, I chose a watermelon table for Tangy. I thought I was so clever. "She looks like fruit, it makes so much sense!" I gave it to her and she was like "oh, thanks... i have one of these already tho"

Wow! You are my hero. I thought Reddit might have the info, but I didn't really go down the rabbit hole. That explains why Maddie liked the dapper skirt - it's basic. Thanks!
