Have you ever time traveled to unlock a shop or something? how did you go about it?

I'm unsure whether I should travel forward in time to unlock, then go back to the current day, or if I should travel back in time far enough that I can unlock by the time I get to the current day... would both of these methods work?

Just to clarify - the reason I'm doing this is because I decided to reset my town and I just want to unlock the T&T and Shampoodle, because I had already unlocked it in my old town before - without TT-ing.

* Also can we please refrain from arguing about whether or not TT-ing is cheating or not. If you want to talk about that, start your own thread. Thanks!

I TT in general, so I unlocked them quicker than normal anyway.. But I'd say either of the options work, but just do it day-by-day.. You don't want a villager you like to suddenly disappear

Never, never, never. I've never TT'd in my current town. I have done it before in a previous town, but it diminished any previous enjoyment I had with it. So I have sworn off TT-ing for good, because it ruins the game experience, for me at least.

I play the game as it is intended to be played. If that's elitist, then count me in.

I am so tired of this "intended" way of playing ****. It is elitist when you say the way thousands of other people play is the wrong way as compared to the way that you play. Oh, and changing the games time is a feature added in the game. Even villagers acknowledge that you TT.

Have you played Scribblenauts: Unlimited on the Wii U ? It's great. It's a creative adventure where you can change everything with a notebook. Want to change the granny into a luge ? You can do so. You want to hyper-size a bird, just change it into an ostridge. Very funny game indeed.

Now back to our programming : Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

By the end of a Monday, I like to feel like I've accomplished something big to set me up for the rest of the week. So, I set about my routine of combing the town for bits and pieces to recycle, hoping to make a chunk of change.

However, while I was on the beach looking for rare shells, I chanced upon what I initially thought to be a corpse. There was an extremely white figure lying face down in the sand, the water lapping at its feet.

Thankfully, it was no cadaver. It turned out to be a seagull by the name of Gulliver. He had been washed up on the shore of Kusanagi, and was clearly dazed and very confused.

Gulliver kept mumbling something about cinnamon buns and "alpha males" while he drifted in and out of consciousness. I kept prodding him until he finally came to.

He was very thankful for the 'resuscitation', but asked me if I could point him in the direction of his destination, even though he'd forgotten where he was headed.

After a few descriptive words about his final destination such as "respect", "pasta", and a "boot", we decided it must be Italy. Pleased with himself, Gulliver wandered off. I really hope he gets there okay.

P.S. I don't time travel.

Exactly this for me too. I TT'd on my first town a bit, for example when I knew a shop was opening I TT'd a day at a time and then back depending on how long it took for the shop to be built. If it was a long build like Shampoodle (or Kicks, can't remember which) I would TT a day then TT back one day at a time. Then when I reset I TT'd the HELL out of my new town, it was so awful that I reset again. Now I will never TT on this town, just saps all enjoyment for me really :(

I occasionally TT to get villagers out - for example, I got Chow earlier and I really don't like him, so I would like to try and TT him out. I don't TT to unlock shops etc.

I understand other people would have less trouble bending their morale code.

This furthers my point that calling the way others play as cheating is elitist snobbery. Now you're telling me I have low moral standards because of how I play a video game? Thats low. Keep it up and I'm reporting you.

I didn't intentionally TT for shops. One happened to be under construction after I TT'd, but the reason for TTing was so that I could give a villager to someone, not to unlock a shop.

Of course I TT to get shops XD I'm way to impatient to wait around a whole day. They're just like, and btw with this amazing new shop here's all the awesome stuff you can do! Except you can't do any of it until tomorrow. Fudge patience! I want me a shop :D

Sorry. I don't cheat. It's just goes against my ethics. I understand other people would have less trouble bending their morale code. Don't fret. I don't hold weaknesses against other people... much.
Are you trying to cause an argument?

Um, to answer the theads host if you can TT to unlock shops, you can. There have been reports of glitches though were shops don't open for months, but that's happened once from what I know. For me I didn't in my main town just because I forgot to ( I TT sometimes an hour ahead to meet a villager or grab an item), but for my second town I did and it worked fine.

It's up to you to take the one time glitch seriously or not :)
