Have you ever had someone say you're too old for AC?

I had this once when I was at the island. The kid asked me how old I was. So I told her I was 18 (now 19) and she was like why are you playing this game, you're too old for this game. Hahaha.

Just had someone ask if I were serious about my age. Why don't the kids believe me :'( hahahaha.

Yep, parents said it when I went to buy ACNL. Almost 18.

Yeah I've had people say that, and I've seen some negative comments in threads where older players are looking for other older players to hang out with. Personally, I couldn't care less what other people think though, it's my business what I do with my free time! And I think perhaps some (certainly not all) younger players forget that AC came out as far back 2004 (or even 2001 for Japan), so some of us oldies weren't quite so old when we first started playing! If you enjoy something, you don't have to let go of it because you get older ^_^ I'll happily play games with people of any age, as long as we all respect each other. I've met lots of nice people on TBT who are younger than me (I'm 29!).

Hahahaha If they think 18 is too old then they surely would surely have an eye opener with my age . I have three teenage grandchilden and two younger ones. I like this game because it is a happy little game. There are no age limits to enjoy it.

Not really. I've also met people on here who are older than me who play the game. I think its really nice that anyone of any age enjoys the game~

Yeah the first AC I played was Wild World, and I think I was like 10 or something when I started that? I have always loved the game!

I've seen a few moms here and met a mother on CT once. This is a game meant to be played by everyone so you're never too old (or too young) to play this. I also usually lie about my age on CT so I don't have to deal with "omg you're older than me!!!". It's fun pretending to be a kid and playing along with them lol.

During high school my parents used to say it every time I was playing it. Now they realize its something that helps me relax. I have family friends and friends Ive met online who are older than me who play, some who are even my parents age or older

I've been playing Animal Crossing since the Gamecube. I still have my original NES hooked up in my living room. Try 28, and no, you can never be too old for animal crossing. The average age of gamers is constantly increasing as gen X grows up.

I agree! Thats something I love about the game. Theres such a variety of ages that play. I always get asked questions from classmates and co-workers (ranging from ages 19 to atleast early 40's), and the cool part is that theyre genuinely interested in it

I've had a few friends in real life tell me it's lame or stupid and my boyfriend always asks me why I play a game for kids. Most of my friends are accepting though or actually play it or similar games. Nintendo is a lot more popular at uni than it was in high school for some reason. Probably because there's less pressure to fit in and like what's considered cool and people are also more mature and accepting.

No I haven't, not to my face anyway. I'm one of the older players at twenty-eight. Animal Crossing is a great game for people of all ages. I like to play because its fun plus it reduces stress.

oh man if my boyfriend told me that i'd probably hit him! Nah, kidding. I wouldn't like it though.. And about the uni thing.. I think that's true. I'm in college now, and it's way better than in high school, still my classmates are nOT accepting so i'm not telling them >.<

Well, i'm a lot older than most ac players.My son got me into it years ago.He is now in his 20's.

One time i went to club t and this girl called me an old hag.She was trying to get me to leave.Lol.

Another time, this boy said i was too old to play.I asked if his parents ever played video games.He said " no, because they have a life ".

Sometimes i feel tempted to lie to the kids about my age but it just doesn't seem right.Sometimes i tell them i am really old, but that just makes them badger me more about my age.I get to the point where if they ask how old i am, i just ignore them and leave the island.

My ex used to wonder though he did not make nasty comments. My current partner plays and he is 2 years older than me!

Interestingly I used to talk to someone on this thread but once I posted my age of 45 in one thread; he/she stopped talking to me on best friend feature. I then saw a nasty comment he/she had made on the older players thread about age. I quickly deleted them.

These people who seem to think that older people shouldn't play games will probably be playing them when they are older too.Do they think that when they turn a certain age that they will instantly stop playing?

Another thing that really irritates me are older people that act like i'm too old to play or roll their eyes at me are constantly messing with their cell phones.They play all kinds of games on them.A popular one i noticed is that farming game.They really get into that one.
