Have you ever had someone say you're too old for AC?

My dad and some of my friends say I'm too old for it, and that it's a kid's game...
I just ignore them cause I love it <3

Not that I can remember. Pretty much everyone in my family plays or has played a video game, and honestly the idea of somebody not playing some sort of video game strikes me as very odd. I'd probably go, "Really? Why?" if someone said they don't like them at all. XD But yeah, nobody seems to care that I play kid-friendly games.

My parents think I'm too old for video games... period.

-shrugs- So I guess they mean AC too?

Just like Pokemon, Animal Crossing has a lot more to it that kids would miss out on. It's a game that all ages of people can play. Kind of like how people of all ages can watch Disney movies. They have bits and pieces for every age group to enjoy.

I'm 66 years old, and nobody DARES to tell me I'm too old for Animal Crossing. They might think it, but they don't say it.... :D At my age, I really don't care what they think.

Noones told me I'm to old for AC (I'm 27) that I can recall, but I wouldn't really care if they did tbh. It's a sweet gentle game and I love that people of all ages play :).

This has nothappened to me yet but im sure it will eventually. Honestly though it really doesn't help that the gaming industry has taken the turns that it did. Nothing really appeals to me on PC, and neither dose paying 600 bucks for a new console every year >.< (not that there are any appealing console exclusives either.

Hahah this reminded me the time I stumbled upon a 10 years old girl and 15 years old boy in Club Tortimer. The boy asked how old I was and I replied "Ten years older than you". Both of them went whaaaaaat xD

Sometimes I feel too old for AC, but hey it helps me relax and stop stressing over my work, so nothing is wrong with playing AC I guess

Animal Crossing can be played and picked up by everyone, but the game isn't meant for everyone. I'm pretty happy that other people of varying ages also admits to playing the game that they enjoy. It doesn't make it feel so old, and there's some common interest that ends up making the game more interesting to play. This game does often help me feel relaxed and even sometimes makes me feel a bit better when things happen in the game. I don't mean to offend the people that plays games like Halo and CoD, but those games sort of stress me out. I prefer the casual, calm, and happy atmosphere that Animal Crossing has compared to those of FPS/diplo/war games.

My preferences in video games can vary, but otherwise pretty flexible and adaptable - open ended/sand box kind of games, RPGs, and a few fighting games like SSB; ones that are made and designed pretty well that you don't regret putting a lot of time into it - ones with strong gameplay and story.

I've never been asked, personally. I believe that this game can be appreciated by all ages, in different ways. For me, AC helps me relax and when I was unemployed for health reasons, it kept me busy and kept me from going bonkers from boredom :)

Little kids on the island will sometimes say something to that effect, and I'm only 20. How can be too old for Animal Crossing? Animal Crossing is awesome forever. Someday I will be 86 and I'll still be playing the newest Animal Crossing.

EDIT: Now I'm 27 still playing AC :P

Those of us who are in our 60's and play this game are young at heart ;)

Yes, that's what i tell the kids that ask my age at ct.I'm not in my 60's yet, but i'm sure i'll still be playing games when i am.Why should we stop enjoying things just because we are older?I love reading this thread and seeing all the 50 and 60 year olds that enjoy this game too.

It's not Animal Crossing in particular, but people sometimes ask, "Aren't you too old for video games?"
No. No I'm not. There are people older than me that dedicate their lives to making great ones. And there's no age limit to begin with.

I get a lot of kids on CT arguing that I'm not "really" 20 after they've asked my age, and my mum told me a few times that I was too old to be playing it(ironically she bought it a few months ago, and she's been playing it obsessively since).

Haha, I love that! I bet she now sees why you liked to play in the first place :)

My dad says Nintendo is childish and if he saw Animal Crossing, he would tell me I'm too old for it too. So sure of it, but I won't let it affect me ^^

I'm 47 and have played AC since the Gamecube version (which we bought for my now-18 year old son). My best friend plays NL and she's the same age I am. My teenage daughter plays it and we have a blast playing together. AC was her very first video game, all those years ago.

I can't wait for it to come out for Wii U!
