Have you ever had scammers try to call you?

Lol yeah you could always speak some weird language back at them to see how they reply. Or claim you are from your country's police lol!

All the time! I've just stopped answering the phone at this point.
When I did answer one time the guy was talking about cars or something and finished by saying, "I know you have car insurance, right ma'am?" I'm like I don't even own a car and hung up

I get a lot of calls from "debt collectors" asking me for personal information and apparently, my name is Amanda. Or sometimes Richard. I also have a child who keeps missing school and need to verify some personal information. I normally don't pick up any phone calls unless I am expecting one and even then sometimes I'll miss it just to make sure (I call back once I've confirmed it and save the number).

I probably get them a lot from my house phone but I never answer it unless I recognize the number or the caller ID says that it's something I need to answer (appointments, pharmacies, etc.).

I've also been receiving texts from numbers that are like, "This lotto winner wants to give you money! Email this email address to get the money!" Which is weird because I hardly ever give out my number to weird stuff like that. :/

And I've gotten the emails that try to scam you. One said that I was the heir to a huge sum of money from a dead distant relative. The worst part is that they said it was from "Mr. (my first and last name)". Like, how dumb can you be? I'm a chick and I saw right through that rofl.

yeah, we keep getting indian scammers asking about our computer. my parents usually try to troll them. they've asked for the scammer's social security number, or they've said something like "the authorities are listening to this call right now". the scammers either hang up or get angry lol
one time my dad imitated the guy's accent too... that was interesting

LOL yes I had this guy from India calling me like three times a couple of years ago like smh...

Well, if I'm on the mood, I just let them talk until they finish their long long speech, and then I just laugh and hang up after that. If I don't have time to play with them, I just hang up whenever I hear them asking for money or personal information. It's been several years since I find about those scams several years ago online, like at http://whycall.me and another similar complaint boards. That's why I know which one's legit and which one's scam.

I don't get many, but my mom. Sheesh. She's a bit of a hothead and the calls sure do annoy her. One time she had about 5 in a day, and when the fifth call came she promptly told the caller on the phone to f*** off. He did the same, added a range of slurs on the end, and hung up.

I used to have my message machine as Spiderwebs by No Doubt because I ALWAYS screen my phonecalls on my cell, and for good reason, I don't really get scammers but I get a long of weird calls. I have had some weird wrong numbers call sometimes and got weird messages, like one was for some construction dude saying he got the wrong boards because they were like an inch too long and the other ones were damaged so he needed me (whoever the call was meant for) to confirm and pick up the right ones for the job and told me the times and address and i was just like...uhm... Texted him wrong number back. Also had a Mexican texting me asking me for forgiveness thinking I was his mom, and he'd just got out of jail, he wrote it all in Spanish and I read it to my co-worker at the time and she helped me reply to him. at first when I said you have the wrong number be was all like "no mama, I am so sorry please don't be like this to ignore me, i will really change please let me come home!" and I was to assure him i was not his mom and he had the wrong number, and that i didn't even speak Spanish XD also had an old phone number that belonged to some college kid before I got it I guess and so his friends would text me and call me and leave me messages all the time, one of the guys kept texting me for a while and we talked for a bit but I would get messages like from kids at parties like "HEY TREVOR! LISTEN TO WHAT SONG CAME ON MAN!" and then like loud party music and whooping, and I even got a call from the kid's dad who wanted to meet him on campus because he was going to be driving through town, and like some of the texts and stuff were like "haven't seen you around campus lately bro, where have you been, doing ok?" So I don't know if the kid just like disappeared or what... it was really weird.

I get calls all the time telling me I'm entitled to thousands of pounds due to the accident I had in work years ago.

I don't even have a job...

Well.. a year ago or so, I had these random people texting me about weird stuff and calling me a weird name that wasn't mine.. I'm not sure if they were scammers or not, but still.. creepy. (Also, on terms of scam calls, I've gotten only a couple luckily.)

Not scammers but I had this random guy text me who thought I lost my credit card.. I'm like.. uh no there are like 10s of people with the same name as mine around so here so they probably just took the first number when they checked...

My nan has had a lot of calls like this but she tells them to go away. Luckily she doesn't fall for those but she has a lot of scams in her email. She click on these unsusbcribe links which download stuff to her computer. I get rid of them for her because she doesn't know how to get rid of them. (Yes , I'm that caring XD)
