I know I know, they can be rigged. But winning anything from them is definitely next to nothing.
I remember back in 2018, my 3rd sister decided to get Scratchcards for all of my family members. I got 30$, the rest got at least 10$'s while my Mom got nothing, I was the one to win the most money out of it.
I doubt any of you on the forums actually got the jackpot, but if you did win anything from these rigged pieces of paper, how much money did you get exactly?
I've never purchased any. My partner has won money through the lottery several times in the few years we've been together - small quantities of course.
I remember back when I had my dental surgery - I've had a few dental procedures, but I'm referring to the implants here. My manager at 7-Eleven wouldn't give me any time off work, so I was cashiering with a swollen face and I could barely talk. I literally had surgery, and the next day I was back at work. One of my customers felt bad and gave me a $20 tip, and I used it to buy a $20 lottery ticket, which I won $300 on.
I won smaller amounts a few other times, but the most I won was on that $300 winner.
It's the kind of thing I receive with Christmas cards, I don't buy them myself, I hate losing money, I often win small amount like $2, $5..I might have won $10 once, not more.
People have given them to me for my birthday or other events of celebration when they don't know what to give me, but I never buy them myself. I think I won insignificant amounts when I was gifted them like $5 or less. Or nothing. The funny thing is I actually found one when sweeping the floors of one of my old jobs. I checked it over and it looked like a winner for $50, but I thought someone had already claimed it. Turns out someone either lost, dropped, or didn't really look it over and didn't think it was a winner because I was $50 richer by the end of my shift.
I've gotten some over the years as parts of presents, like my old boss used to buy everyone one for Christmas hahah. I have definitely won stuff a couple times, but I think only like $5-10. I feel like I do remember getting $30 from one as a kid though.
I won $1,000 years ago, although I say "I" with a huge asterisk beside it because it technically wasn't me who purchased the ticket, but the money was given to me. I opted to save it for the future to help for whenever I retire.
I’ve never bought a lottery ticket or had one given to me, actually. I’m extremely risk-averse and gambling just really doesn’t appeal to me.
When I was a kid, my best friend’s dad used to tell the story of how he got a lottery ticket and was super excited to hear them reading the winning number off the radio. His number matched….and matched….up until it didn’t. Apparently he threw it away in frustration, not realizing that he would still have won a smaller amount of money for having like 7/10 of the same numbers or whatever it was.
When I was younger, my parents would occasionally buy lottery tickets "for me". Meaning, they would buy the lottery ticket and it'd belong to them, but they'd say that if they happened to win anything (money-wise) from it, they'd spend the money on me. "I" won $200 this way once, and I remember my mom playing the song from one of the lottery commercials at the time for me to dance to to celebrate LOL. I don't remember what I asked for with the money, though— probably toys.
I'm not interested in lottery tickets/scratch cards or anything like that anymore, so I don't see me ever winning anything from them again.
