For me, it's Velma. I've had her since the start and I didn't care for her at first, but she was the most interesting one out of the five villagers. Then, I started getting to know her and now we are best friends. Did you have a villager you didn't care for at first, and then started growing on you?
I started a town the day before yesterday, and I have Kid Cat in it. I first was like "meh" when I saw him, but now I think that he's so cute, always talking about exercise and stuff! I think that he's staying in my town, if not forever, at least for a long time.
Yep. I originally thought Sly was annoying and bland, but he was actually a pleasant villager to be around. He no longer lives in my town anymore, but he was cool when he lived there.
Beardo Definitely didn't like him at first. I didn't know what a smug personality was, and his dialogue was so unusual and creepy with its romantic implications.. When he tried to move, I told him it was okay, but he changed his mind and decided to stay in my town instead. I'm glad he did, though. He's awesome ^^
yes, several.
Egbert in City Folk... I didn't like him much in the beginning, but he grew on me and became my best friend and absolute favorite. I'm so happy I have him in New Leaf now. :'>
in New Leaf, there's been several... but the most important to me is/was Coach. like, when I first saw him, I was kinda like "ugh" but... he's actually adorable. and he's a jock, so I had to love him. unfortunately, I lost him to a time traveling accident... >: maybe I can get him in my new town someday.
In my first town, Applewin, the Smug goat Kidd was not one of the starters. He's slotted at No. 10. Not giving thought to campers, back in August/September 2013 (the earliest stage of my playing "Animal Crossing: New Leaf"), I had my Mayor Jill invite Kidd to move into Applewin. I didn't have a strong feeling with him?in one respect or another. But, over time, I just found him to be soulful. He's a sensitive and generous Smug. And I'm glad I've made sure not to allow Kidd to move. After having a given town more than a year, I think some of the characters (especially ones from early on) give that town its identity. Kidd is very much a part of Applewin.
kabuki. i invited him to move into my town with the intention to sell him or give him away, but i really started to like him and i really couldn't imagine not having him in my town.
Mott. At first I got him from a friend for one reason or another, but slowly began to like him. Was upset when he moved, and went as far as to cycle him back into my town. I may have lost that one, but another had popped up in my new main town not too long after that, and I refuse to let him go.
Pietro grew on me. When I first saw him in my friend's town, I simply thought of him as a extremely creepy sheep. As time / my summer went on, it became clear to me that he was actually somewhat cool, and he really did grow on me in the span of about of a month. I never got him, but I think he is still in my friend's file.
I couldn't stand Walt at first. His design isn't exactly pleasing and he is a cranky, to make things worse. His personality changed a lot with time and I grew attached to him and now he is one of my favorite villagers.
Tons! The one who I got most attached to was probably Frita! I wanted a uchi so I treid her out and I love her!! Her design is like no other and very special to me
No, I try and bathe regularly to keep their parasitic tendrils from latching on--
OH
Yes, yes I have. Felicity was a void from my boyfriend (thanks, yo). She is super cute, and I would have kept her--had I not already decided on Bianca. Plus she plotted just in front of my cafe. Maybe we'll meet again in another town, sweet kitty...
Croque.
I was not happy at all to find him in my town, but I don't know.
He was awesome. He was actually my favorite. I ended up resetting that town, because of other reasons, but my current town, also has Croque in it, and I plan on becoming best friends with him, as well. ^-^

I feel the same! I didn't like him at first but he always said funny things and I actually ended up getting his picture before he moved away! What a sweet little 'gator
