Were lazy villagers always as gross as they are in NH??? Like, I don't ever remember them being like "I had really good egg salad so I smeared some on this paper for you to taste it! Sorry I licked it a few times." until now. I swear, some of their dialogue/letters make me actually gag. Did they up the gross-out in NH or what?

I agree that it seems like they really did make them super gross in this game. I used to like the lazy personality in New Leaf but I really don't as much anymore 😔

I hate how I can't even gift them fruit without talking about bugs, every time they are crafting a DIY they talk about bugs, the letters that they have spilled gravy on.. I can't stand it either. I used to have 2 lazy villagers but I had to drop it down to just 1 because it was getting to be too much.

GOD, yes. I have Stitches (as one of my dreamies/permanent villagers) as well as Joey (who I want to move out), and both of them together means double the queasiness. It's so weird talking to them and they bring up bugs whispering things to them or licking things...

Lol, I have a really nice lazy (Benjamin). Gross, yes, but I still find it funny. Maybe because he's so helplessly pathetic, cookie grease on EVERY diy, sleeping in late so the bugs get some good quiet time. And all of my cranky villagers really, really get on Benjamin's case, so I feel a bit sorry for him. (Although he seems oblivious to the fact that he drives them nuts).

Yeah, they weren't like that in New Leaf. Though I'm wondering if all lazies talk excessively about bugs or if it has to do with their hobby or subtype. With Snooties, there's a huge difference sometimes.

I like to think of Raddle as a messy little brother. His starter house fits the bugs pretty well too.

Yeah the letters are gross.
I do always gift a lazy a bug of some sort so the dialogue makes some sense. Maybe they like sharing their fruit with their butterfly friends or they just have fleas.. lol

yea they used to be cuter and actually fit the title of lazy in new leaf. i kinda like when they talk about bugs in new horizons bc i think it's funny, but they just don't seem like an actual lazy villager anymore, they seem more like weird stoners or something. i was considering ending up with 2 lazies on my island bc i like most of their designs, but im starting to like jocks more.

Beau's one of my favorites but I hate talking to him because he's so gross. Talking about jarred asparagus he stored for years in a warm, damp place or asking me if he smells like food. I'm hoping eventually they'll get new dialogue to tone down the gross but I doubt it.

lol, I guess I never really noticed that they were super gross. I have Erik and he talks about bugs and food a lot but never anything I found disgusting. I find myself enjoying the little differences. I can even stand the snooty villagers now when in previous games, I could not stand talking to them. lol

Yeah the letters are gross.
Maybe I just deleted all the gross ones but the ojnly one I remember is the one about bad smelling shoes. Jocks on the other hand... everything they send me seems to be drenched in sweat. :(

The not gross letters from lazies are super cute though.

You're lucky to get such cute lazy letters; I swear, EVERY single one I get mentions that it has food on it or that they licked it...

It’s new, but I kind of enjoy it.

Reminds you that they are still animals, so they’re bound to be a little weird. Maybe it helps that my permanent lazy is Bones; dogs tend to be food motivated and no stranger to fleas. It makes it way more funny once they hit you with that deep 4th wall breaking dialogue just to end it with something simple about food-induced dreams.

They're a little gross but their cute dialogues make up for it for me, and luckily Erik hardly ever mentions bugs. That one line where they're like I mossed your big adorable face gets me every time cause they're like the children of the Animal Crossing villagers so its like seeing a baby call and adult cute ☺

I'm not too fond of this personality type :c

I have Stitches who's super cute, but the constant talk about food and bugs gets pretty boring and repetitive.
I feel like there isn't much dimension w/ this personality (and several personalities in this game, really).

Just got this one. (Yes, I'm wearing a Bunny Day outfit in October. It's one of my few cute full sets.)

I hate lazy dialogue so much for this reason, like the talking about dropping their food and feeding it to the bugs in their carpet is easily the worst line of text in the game. I tend to overlook it bc lazies are generally rlly cute but I think they have some of the worst dialogue among all the personalities

I'm also not a fan of lazy dialogue, which is why I've been contemplating kicking out one of my two lazies currently on my island ^^;
