Hatred for Marshal/other popular villagers?

For some reason I can't stand seeing Marshal in almost every dream town/town I visit. He's everywhere in everyone's dreamie list and I don't understand why he's so popular. His eyes are so scary and he looks constantly angry. Does anyone else feel this way about him?

Marshal is pretty cute, in my opinion. I don't really like the smug personality type, but his house and design are awesome.

I like Marshal and other popular villagers. I know you see some people in like all dreams but its cause people like them. I don't hate on them just because they are popular! There are so many awesome other villagers though, that some don't notice just because others like people like Marshal p

I can understand disliking something because it is popular. That's me and clothes.
I hate suspenders and neon and mustaches and nerd glasses because EVERYBODY WEARS THEM. But, of course, we need to respect everyone's opinions. I've learned that, and you should as well.

That aside, I dislike Marshal, personally. I think he's awful as a smug. Make him cranky and he'd be 100% better.

There's no reason to hate a popular villager, just accept that everyone likes this cutie and if you re not just don't visit those dream then.

I think Marshall's adorable. Appearance-wise, probably one of my favorites. If I got him back, and he moved into a good spot, I'd do my best to keep him, since I was never really bothered by his personality in any way.

Well, you can't really do that if everyone has him.

In my opinion, he's neutral, as practically all villagers are, because my wanted villagers are villagers I've talked to before and grown to like, whether they be from past experiences or random move-ins. I do see how it could be annoying seeing the same villagers everywhere, though, so I understand why some people don't want popular villagers specifically because they're everywhere and get boring.

Everyone likes different things. If you don't like him then don't like him, but is it really necessary to make a big deal about it? I'm sure everyone has popular villagers they don't like.

I've only met Marshal in a dream once, but from what I've seen I liked him a lot. He's only the third smug to ever leave a good impression on me too, so that's saying something. If Julian didn't look so good in my town I'd probably get Marshal instead.

No, but seriously.. There was a really good point. He's cute to MANY people, which made him popular because everyone wanted him to themselves, because he is cute~ .3. I like him not for his looks, but because of how tiny he is for such a angry looking little marshmellow.

Hate is a really strong word when talking about preferences for certain virtual animals lol, I can understand the sentiment though. Personally I like Marshall and if he were to appear in my campsite I'd probably take him, but I really don't see why hes been so hyped up. To each their own though, I've got villagers that I love that many people would consider ugly, and I in turn find some of the more popular villagers boring (lookin at you Bob and Fang).

I also agree with you about seeing popular villagers in everyone's dream town, it does get really tiresome. I don't really care who has what villagers in their town though, normally when I visit someones town its to see how they have it set up and how they've decorated their houses.

I don't see the appeal of Marshal, but I don't hate him, lol. He was in my campsite the other day and I was just like, "Oh...well, hello" and left. He is quite cute and his angry expression just makes him that much more cute, but he just isn't my cup of tea. But hey, he's cute and I wouldn't have minded him moving into my town instead of Gruff or Diva or someone else at the time. I have a lot of popular villagers and I love them all. But my original, less popular villagers are still some of my favorites. I think this game is great because it caters to everyone's preferences in a way.

I have Marshal and I like him! I liked him and Zell the best out of all the smugs.
