That's really odd and scary. D: Is there a way to prevent that from happening or did it just randomly happen?

We think it was due to the campsite. she had a villager moving in either through invite or void. If I am remembering correctly, but she didn't show up so she saw her in the campsite and invited her in. I think that is what did it. So be careful with your campers. I loathe the campsite as it has never really helped my main town. She may come on and explain better. I did see the glitch for myself . She is having trouble with the same villager again. She refuses to plot in a good spot :P

26 voters and I'm the first to have my game corrupt :/ .. It corrupted twice on my digital copy.. But I think it was due to a faulty SD card

Was it the SD card that came with your 3DS or one that you bought? I'm using the cheap one that came with the 3DS cause at the time of downloading, I had no other option. v.v

I transferred my data to a different SD card when I did a System Transfer, and I had no issues with AC or any other games.

I own both a physical and digital copy and neither have ever been corrupted...yet. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself >__>

Both my copies are physical and neither have corrupted. My main town of Noveria, which has way over 500 hours on it (can't say the activity log is accurate because it doesn't take into account the two games, least I don't think so anyway), I've accidentally popped out the cartridge while the game was on and I lucked out that nothing happened.

I do use 2 SD cards because I like keeping the pics from both towns separate. I always take out the game and SD card when the system is off so it's a very slim chance of corruption. I have noticed a bunch of people saying that they've accidentally popped out their cartridges too, which I think is a flaw on Nintendo's part because it's easy to accidentally eject a game, as it's spring-loaded.

I liked when the games snapped into place (GB, GBC, GBA generation) and there was virtually no chance of games popping out. Sad they switched it when the DS came out. Not sure why they changed it in the first place...

Physical copy has never corrupted! I think most people that post about there game getting corrupted are too blame. Not in all cases but most people don't save properly or put there game out when the DS is still in use...Most of the issues can be solved easily by just saving and being really carefulV:)

I've had my physical copy since June 19th and I've put almost 600 hours into it without it corrupting. I feel like most people whose games corrupt are either careless or there's an issue with their SD card or cartridge slot or something, rather than it being the game itself.

Nope, i own 2 physicals
far too paranoid over digitals ;/ and i think by buying them, it only makes the trade of physicals get smaller and smaller until the inevitable happens with them only selling digital :/

Mine has never corrupted and I own a digital copy. I also take my sd card quite a few times to share photos and such. I never knew this was a problem o.o My mom does the same as well, except she has a physical copy and nothing has happened to her game either.

Never happened to me, but I've paranoid about these sorts of things happening since Wild World. I use a physical copy.

4 physical copies, had the first one since release, almost 600 hours, no corruptions. I agree with Swurve. I believe they CAN corrupt, but not to the amount that threads have been popping up at all, especially since I've seen the same person make two threads, then someone called them out on already getting a ton of stuff. It's so disgusting. Ugh ew.

That and when they come here and lie about being scammed on the ACC forums. Knowing how kind and generous the TBT forums is. >.< I find that disgusting. I saw someone do that. They asked someone to hold their stuff(mostly junk), then didn't go back to get it. And when the person holding asks them what's going on and if they can come back to grab it, they'll say "nope not coming back". Then they come here and tell us their fake tale of woe. So then everyone feels sorry for them and gives them way more stuff than they could ever hope for. If I didn't find it so disgusting, I'd actually think it's quite clever.

I've had my first physical copy since it came out June 9 or something and it's been fine so far, I got another physical copy about a month or something ago and its been fine also. It would be awful if my first town got deleted or anything, I've played 500+ on it and my town is mostly complete

Mine hasn't corrupted yet, and I hope it never does. I've had it since December 25th, 2013 :)

Wait, that was a lie?

I gave stuff to that person......

My physical copy corrupted this morning actually, I think I probably turned it off too early while I was in a rush.
This has been the second time mine's corrupted and both times it's been my fault, either that or my card is defective. When I had a digital copy I had no problems.

I know that turning it off too early is a surefire way to get it corrupted.
But... I've never understood how people do it, because I always wait until it goes back to the start screen because I've always thought you had to wait for the little train to stop loading... >__>;;;

You did?! :/
That post was actually the first post I saw on TBT. I was still on ACC at the time, and saw the whole thing. I actually knew the person that was so called "scammer". I had sold her stuff before with no problems. Then saw that post. The lie was that the supposed scammer wasn't scamming. She was told to hold items for the guy, then the guy didn't want to come to grab his stuff. I guess he saw a better opportunity here. I only found out about it later when the person being accused posted proof that she asked multiple times for him to come back to grab his stuff. I felt sorry for the guy at first as well. People will do anything these days >.<

I also rechecked the guy's proof photos and it does show her asking for him to come back and grab his stuff and him refusing, I guess never noticed that either >.< just like everyone else.
