Last week Nate was talking about how we should have a day dedicated to ceviche.

Ceviche.jpg

I, having no clue what a ceviche was, decided to Google it and it actually looks pretty good.

I kind of like how your villagers will mention more obscure food items. Have you ever learned something through playing this game?

I've learned that if approached by a wild wolf, don't panic.

He's only looking for furniture. ^_^

Plan (Plot) in haste, repent in leisure. Patience, Patience, Patience!

That looks good! (expect for the shrimp, I don't care for shrimp)

I actually didn't know much at all about bugs, fish, fossils, or art. Sure, I still don't know much, but I've learned a pretty decent amount since I started playing this game.

Definately this!

I've been fascinated with dinosaurs since I was five.

I just wish Blathers was informative and funny, the way he was in Wild World.

Me too!! I always wonder why they changed it, and I hope they bring old Blathers back.

It's almost like they removed any personality he had. I kind of find the NL version of him annoying. They should definitely bring his personality back in the next game!!!

Definitely this!

Gamecube Blathers:
"Why, I'd imagine it took more than a bit of skill and daring to catch bees! You've got 'moxie,' as I believe they say. I'm certain you must have been stung numerous times. How terribly painful that must have been, eh wot? Incidentally, do you know how some honeybees protect their hives when attacked by giant wasps? The giant wasps can't survive heats above 113 degrees, but the honeybees can live at heats up to 122 degrees. The canny honeybees use this nine-degree difference to their fullest advantage, wot! When the wasps arrive, the bees attack them en masse. A single wasp may be swarmed by up to 500 bees! Now this is truly amazing. The bees then begin to vibrate, creating a veritable cocoon of suffocating heat. Do you see the genius at work here? This swarming is but a feverish defense against the giant wasps' weakness. The temperature? Hoo hoo! Lo and behold, 120 degrees! Just below the bees own threshold of survival! In this incredible fashion, the honeybees literally lay their lives on the line to protect the hive! Stupendous! To be honest, I learned that from a wee documentary I saw on the telly! Of course, incredible feats can only go so far. When all is said and done, they're still insects, and still ghastly!"

New Leaf Blathers:
"Ah, the bee reminds me of when I was a wee chick in my mother's nest."

Playing the GameCube I learned about everything I donated to Blathers, which I loved because I'm a sponge and I really love absorbing as much knowledge and information as possible.

I still did learn quite a bit in New Leaf by going through all the exhibits and learning about them. I'm also constantly looking up various foods the lazies mention because I haven't heard of a lot of the things they talk about.

On a more emotional level, I've learned to have patience and also it's encouraging and reassuring when my villagers talk about enjoying really simple pleasures. As someone who has a very detail oriented mind and I focus a lot of the details and work of things it's nice to be reminded that simple things are just as wonderful as introcate things.

Don't trust foxes trying to sell you exquisite art... 3/4 times its only a forgery. Also moles have no patience for freedom, and pigeons make the best coffee...

Seriously though, I feel like this game is constantly encouraging me to research Japan...

I was very fascinated with dinosaurs when I was younger too and I wish he would go on about fossils. And the dinosaurs I mean he only went on for a bit, don't know why people weren't fond of the info.

I know more about fish and flowers and insects too. I can tell what a fish was without the game telling me to and in the real life too XD

it taught me how to ask people irl beforehand if they have ugly villagers before turning on my 3ds for streetpass
damn you fuschia
avery was in my tent
i wanted him so bad
you took up the 10th spot

back in the older games, i learnt about things like salmon being in rivers in the autumn,, etc

Happy birthday King Jon. And I love ceviche but wanted to make sure that everyone knows that the fish in a classic ceviche isn't actually cooked, it marinates in lime juice so it's basically raw... Just in case you didn't know, now you do and don't have to find out the hard way if that's not something you're into but if prepared right it's delicious.

I definitely learned a lot from the descriptions of the bugs, fish, fossils, and art pieces. Most of them I didn't even realize were real things so it was fascinating to learn so many facts about them. In fact, once my mom showed me a picture of a horned Hercules and I knew what it was because of this game.

Patience is impossible.

Ah, yes. Never forget all of the times I relentlessly scream at my Nintendo because Isabelle won't let me build my PWP there, Rover won't give me a good map, or I can't catch a stringfish.

Also, Happy birthday!!!

It taught me about some bugs and fish, like TOMFG I hadn't known some of them existed until I caught them in game.

I've learned the rafflesia existed way before my science classes even touched on the topic of this flower. And I learned it the hard way...
