It got me thinking the other day when I received an email from somebody. The first thing I noticed was the misspelling of my name, Nicole. This wasn't the first time it happened as I noticed when I booked a hair appointment at the hair dressers a few weeks back, the young lady behind the counter had spelled my name as Nichole. This is a common error that I find some people make; they tend to include a H in between the C and O. It's happened on more than one occasion, therefore it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I still feel the need to correct them though.

Has anyone spelled your name incorrectly? If so, how did they spell it wrong? Does it bother you when others misspell your name? Do you even like your name?

Ohhh my gosh, all the time. People say it incorrectly too Dx

My name is spelt "Lani" but a lot of people put like "larni" or "larnie". And when I'm at school, and we have a supply teacher, they said "Lee-ar-nee" instead of my full name Leilani (lay-lar-nee).
The Leilani one gets me the most annoyed though...like, you're missing letters in the middle of my name whyy

not often, but yea it has happened sometimes. They tend to add an extra A before my name.

they need to be larning to spell your name right

I grew up with a speech impediment and have a really weird mixed accent so half the time people have no idea what I'm saying and once I was at pizza hut and they asked for my name and I said Jake but they misheard it as Jack and then when I went to pick my pizza up they wouldn't give me my pizza for like 5 minutes because "there were no orders for anyone named Jake". Then I told them what I ordered and they looked in the oven, and saw my order under the name Jack and realized they goofed.

The yearbook misspelled my name even though I have a pretty common name. They spelled it "Jutstin" intead of "Justin." They probably just typed too fast and didn't realize the extra "t" in it.

Yeah, but in their defense there is a lot of ways to spell Kaydee. Once I went to Home Depot when I was a kid when they used to hold those little workshops, and we like built birdhouses or something and we got out own tools and so I got this little hammer and they etched "Katy" on it and wrote the same on my little orange apron. I was too shy to correct them :( but my mom tried to etch over on the hammer it make it spell it right but the original still remains. I still have that hammer, and that was like, when I was seven or something?

yeah costa do it on purpose all the time in the hopes that youll take a picture and put it on social media like "lol look at what the starbucks staff did" and its like free advertising

but when people think Ev is pronounced "evie", or Evvie is pronounced "evie" it is just so fcking annoying

Every single time. I seek enjoyment when people have to spell my name and I watch them struggle!

My first name is commonly misspelled.

My surname is often misheard/misspelled as well. After 2-3 attempts of them trying to get it I just spell it out for them.

I've known a lot of people to misspell my surname too. They are usually mistaken with the letter m and replace it with n instead. I much prefer to spell out my name as you said.

It doesn't sound anything like Kevin. How does that work? At least from my experience at Starbucks, they've spelled my name correctly.

Surprisingly yes. You'd think people wouldn't have a hard time spelling 'Hannah' but I've had my name misspelled several times
