Has anyone else noticed the 'Mystery Arrival'?

Yeah he says they just have to hack Nintendos encrypted server to see all the open gates in which case FCs become redundant I'm guessing. Can't be that easy though considering how these stories are uncommon.

I guess there'll always be those few who are bored or nerdy enough regardless, lol.

I can't have "mystery arrivals" because the only person in my Friend's List is myself. LOL. I have NL two copies and 2 2DSs, so I travel between towns when I need to transfer things. Once in a while, I'll add one person at a time if I'm trrading, but I end the session when we're finished and then I remove their Friend Code. If people are dropping in unannounced and bothering you, all you have to do is clean up your list.

i remember someone came to a town i was talking to friends in, and they had a star for a name and town name, and had no walking animation, so just floated around the town.
the host eventually saved and ended the session, but it was v. v. creepy :/

a week ago or so i went to someones town and pushed them across the town cause they were AFK and left them infront of the cafe and planted 3 saplings
im sorry whoever u are

Lol! In WW I used to dig pit trails to a buried gift or make a shape/word with the holes while a friend was AFDS. I wouldn't do that in NL since the holes don't disappear as quickly, so it might seem rude.

wow ok. it just seems like if someone is smart enough to do that, why would they waste their time visiting people's towns? they wouldn't be a little kid then... which seems like the case for these weird stories

You'd think so, but there are a lot of hackers (the bad kind) who spend their time just doing damage to things across the internet, or people's very computers. We've all had a bad virus or malware before right?

Honestly, I have some 15-year-old Greyhat irl triends who actually sat there and explained to my amateur ass how easy it was. Something about stealing another person's 'town code' and 'player code' and using LeafTools. One of 'em has powersave and did it with just that and my sister's cartridge. It's weird...

Plus, my dad works in Government IT and he says this kind of stuff happens in things like Facebook all the time.
