Has anyone else noticed the 'Mystery Arrival' that comes to your town when you're trying to trade or visit with friends? I haven't added anyone in a few days, and yet, someone keeps arriving at my town. Then, as soon as it gets to the saving screen, it resets like they flicked their WiFi switch. Not Resetti, it'll do its obnoxious 'da dew da dew' or whatever and then go to the save screen. I think it's someone who talks to Porter and flips the switch, Idunno. Let me know if you have or haven't experienced this so I know it's not just one of my friends being a d**chewhale. c:

I haven't experienced that before too. But it kind of sounds really creepy.. do you have a friend that's just playing pranks on you in advance of April Fools??

That happened to me one hour ago when I was in another person's town. I arrived there and then "someone" came, and after a while saving, Resetti appeared and sent me back to my town. And that happened twice in a row; after that, she closed the gates when I arrived and that someone or whatever couldn't come anymore.

I haven't experienced this in my time of playing, this has only ever happened sometimes when i'm about to trade with somebody and there's an error between us. It's usually a planned trade though it's never somebody random who comes over as I don't really allow visitors. I'm sure its just probably one of your friends messing with you, either that or your wifi is unstable on your end so they're unable to come to your town. Hope this helped! :)

wth! that is creepy.
i read on these forums a while back that someone had a visitor actually arrive in their town (so they didn't get the error like OP is) & tbh my memory is failing on me atm but if I find the thread I'll edit my post and add it. basically they knew for sure they did not add that person and double checked their friends list after for clarification.

it's sort of happened to me before as well when I was in a friends town, but the person acted like they knew my friend. they said they had exchanged fc's on the island, & my friend had replied saying she never gives our her fc on CT. she had absolutely no idea who this visitor was and checked her friends list after, and didn't see anyone that could've been her.

edit: i give up. cant find the thread. :c

Very creepy! I actually dreamt about this sort of thing a few weeks ago. I dreamt I got back into WW despite the non-existent servers to play with anyone, but somehow, someone got in through wifi (not local) and was silent but moving around in my town when they arrived. O.O

I can't think of WW the same again now, lol!

that is really weird! and a little creepy...
i never had that happened to me before,
and i'll continue to keep my gates closed at all time except for trading to avoid these things from happening ><

I FOUND IT. /detective skills.

this post still gives me chills.

The last line of that post gave me goosebumps. She shoulda held on to communicate with him but I also get that would be pretty unnerving. O.O

Maybe the guy was one of those nerdy hackers who knew how to bypass the FC system or something.

thats what I thought too! but then after thinking about it & actually being in that situation yeah I would probably just freak out and turn off my 3ds.

So yeah I completely believe in this whole mystery/unknown visitor thing. Idk if it has to do with glitchy wifi or what, but since then I don't leave my gates open -at all- unless I'm expecting someone for a trade.

do you have a long list of friend codes? do you usually delete people that you just trade with? if there's s bunch of people on your fc list this can easily happen. there's not really a way for some random person to come unless you've added them (assuming this isn't local wifi)

My hubby just explained how this would be pretty easy for a hacker to do, just to put everyone at ease lol.
