The first time I saw him, I asked for something expensive and got a loft bed with desk (worth 7700) so that was actually really good. But every single time after that I got trash whether I asked for expensive or new

same here. the first time I saw him was in my first or second week of playing and I needed to pay off that loan so I asked for something expensive and got a trashcan since then I only ask for things I don't already have

I don't know about "good"...but, I always choose "give me something new" each time...so, I'm always happy to add to my catalog.

After that I moved to new items... They're usually not that great but he has surprised me with some nice stuff before.

I always choose something new and for the most part it's fine. I don't think it actually guarantees you something you don't already have though, maybe just a really high probability. He's given me the exact same item and color variation I already had twice when my catalog is definitely not complete.

I learned from the first few times that the expensive choice wasn’t worth it. I always go for new to catalog a new item.
