Like what someone told me, how's he supposed to be the Pokemon master and catch 'em all if he releases most of his good Pokemon?

Examples: Primeape, Charizard, Butterfree, Squirtle and Pidgeot. I think he even let a Larvitar go. If he trained those, he would've at least tanked the Kanto League.

If I remember correctly, he was supposed to deliver Larvitar to Professor Elm. And at least Charizard and Squirtle visit when he needs them. o:
