Just saw a thread of someone asking of harvest moon , i've heard about that game but i don't know what is it about and i must say , i'm pretty curious now!Can someone give me a resume or something about the game?it looks cute

Basically its a farming game plus it has a relationship/dating. Its a slower paced game like Animal Crossing but the gameplay is much more focused. Definitely a great series to get into and if you want to play some of the best versions try out Harvest Moon SNES on the Wii U eshop or buy Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. If you want to play my personal favorite get a GBA and play Friends of Mineral Town.

I highly recommend it. It reminds me of AC in certain ways. Everyone above has seemed to cover most of what it's about though c:

I agree. I would recommend you perhaps picking it up, but be careful when choosing games. Of course people do have their own opinions and like different titles in the series, but I don't think every title such as a new beginning would really be fitting for a beginner of the series. I'd suggest getting a tale of two towns, or magical melody, those two are pretty easy as well as quite fun, they'd be perfect to get you started.

Yeah harvest moon is a good series, one of my favorites actually, but you should be careful what game you start out with first. I recommend you start with Harvest moon DS or DS cute. (HMDS is the guy version and the cute version is the girl one ~ also the less buggy/glitchy one) ~ that's the one I started with, and I love it. Or any of the games which you think you'd like best.

I don't recommend that you start out with 'A New Beginning' as, although it's a really good game, it doesn't completely feel like harvest moon to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely addicted to HM a new beginning at the moment, but if you wanted to try it to see if you wanted to play more of the series, then I'd recommend that you try an older one to get the true feel.

It's up to you though. :)

Most fans of the series usually think Friends of Mineral Town for the GBA is a good place to start.

I'm a big fan of the Harvest Moon series. I've lost count of how many Harvest Moon games i have now and always look forward to any new additions. Have them for DS/3DS, Wii, GC, PSP....I keep wondering if there'll be a Wii U version anytime, not that i have a Wii U...yet (one day hopfuly).

Harvest Moon is wonderful! If you like Animal Crossing you should definitely check it out. As for beginner titles, personally my first was Magical Melody, but Friends of Mineral Town is a very very good choice too. Games I would not recommend for beginners, though, would be Island of Happiness and A Wonderful Life. (But if MM and FoMT are too dated for you, you should also check out Tree of Tranquility and Tale of Two Towns! c:)

I've never played an Harvest Moon game, though I've been thinking of doing so. But it seems a new game came out in Japan a while ago, so I figure I might as well wait until that one comes to Europe. :)

Yes! I'm awaiting that one anxiously, because they've finally added a feature that lets you play on other people's farms. About time, too. xD
