Harvest Moon 3 made me feel like a jerk

So I was playing Harvest Moon 3 on this fantastic website (playr.org) and I just started. Today was incredibly cruddy so I felt like I needed to be cruddy as well. So I began the game. Created my character stuff like that and off course made my partner (A.K.A. Future video game wife if you haven't played harvest moon) have the worst name I could think of. After that the mayor begged and pleaded to stop a farm from closing down (THE SECOND TIME? DAMMIT MAYOR!). I constantly tapped no and eventually huge text popped up before me saying how mean I was. The screen went dark... suddenly the text box popped up again. This time saying that the farm had closed down, THE END...

I believe this is a neat little trick developers do. If I remember, I read that in a pokemon game, (I forgot which one.)They did this thingy, where if you didn't buy the game, and just played it on a site/pirated it, messages would appear, changed the game around to be scary just to troll the pirates. One weird example was in that pokemon game. A man said in the game, "Oh, by the way, if you like this game, buy it or die." I'm not even joking, look it up. This is probably something like that. I only think, I don't know. The "Buy it or die." thing was real though, so they probably did it more.
