This is very true unfortunately. As I've come to grow older I've learned more and more about our troubled past and present issues going on in the country.

Very true.

I specifically remember reading about the residential school system back in high school. The arrogance toward and treatment of aboriginal peoples caused so much damage.

While we can celebrate some positive movements (e.g.: legalization of same-sex marriage, notable positive changes within education and human rights legislation like equal pay for equal work, anti-discriminatory hiring practices, and implementing UNDRIP), Canada still has deeply rooted issues that are not often talked about. Or if they are talked about, they are not always met with serious action. What I consider shameful behavior still persists.

Thank you for sharing a few resources. Canada Day is one of many great opportunities to learn more about our nation's history and current climate - both the positive and negative.
