Halloween Giveaway - Should I add Halloween Exclusives?

Nyello everyone. I want to run an event on my island next Friday since I'll be off work. I've been meticulously reordering every new Halloween clothing item, and watering and growing a ton of pumpkins and picking up candy from friends and my second island every day to wrap up two of every color of clothing, two of every color of currently available DIYs for the Spooky set, and am planning to wrap of 5 of the yellow / white / green pumpkins, and 10 of the orange pumpkins for giveaway prizes.

Naturally, this has taken some TTing, and thus far I have avoided hitting on Halloween, but not out of avoiding spoiling it, but because I've been using my candy to craft and wanted to wait until I had more before bothering to load up the day. But, I realized a lot of very cute Spooky set items are locked to Halloween only. :[

I know some people do not like to be 'spoiled' on new items and such, but I feel as if most if not all of them are known at this point. So, the question herein: should I load up Halloween, acquire the DIYs and craft up some Halloween - locked Spooky items to give away a week before Halloween? I plan to have a dump area where people can drop prizes they didn't enjoy or need, so no one would of course be forced to hold onto a special locked item if they don't desire to! But I want to gauge interest before I bother collecting more candy to go load it up, since I also have to reorganize my fences and such to make room and all. ( Which is fine, but you know, effort! Don't want it to be wasted. )

I'm torn on this as I feel we should wait until halloween night to get them.

I TT all the time, but never to events.

I'd rather get the item and DIY myself on the 31st, but that's just me.

It's very nice of you to want to do this though.

Even though I *think* i know what the locked items are, i personally haven't TTd to Halloween day yet because I dont want to risk ruining it lol.

I personally prefer to get everything on my own, but if you want to offer them you could make a separate 'spoiler' section with those gifts?

my suggestion would be offer some built ones but not the actual diys, that way people can actually get decorations they want to put up for their halloween decoraing, but still have the excitement of hunting for the diys on halloween

I also voted no.

First, I suspect that many people who were really eager to have their towns decorated with ALL the Halloween items have probably either tted or traded to obtain them themselves long before the final week of October. So the ones who want them the most/mind being spoiled the least might not need them anymore. I know that for me personally, I've already seen pics of the entire spooky set, but I still want to obtain the last pieces myself on Halloween night.

Also, I would just prefer getting the other items as prizes. I don't know exactly how Halloween in acnh will work, but I'm guessing that if you participate you'll be basically guaranteed the event night rewards. On the other hand, rng plays a role in the clothing at least. Kicks needs to come to your town for imp wings and the Able sisters only have one Halloween clothing set a day. As adorable as I think the Halloween night items are, I can't see myself needing more than one of most of them. But pumpkin lanterns? My town is littered with the things and I still want more! So I'm forever low on spooky crafting mats and lanterns/towers; as common as those things are, they would be awesome prizes.

Maybe what you could do if you want to include event night things is add crafting material bundles for the items. I think one of them takes something like 30 pumpkins, so it would be a pretty impressive grand prize. If they don't want to craft the item, they can always use the mats for something else.

Really cute idea though! I love seeing people in the community set this stuff up. I hope you guys have a ton of fun
