Hairstyle Life Hacks

i have long thick hair down to my back and i hate it, i keep putting of getting it trimmed though. it gets tangled constantly (bc im too stubborn to wear it up) so i pull out half my hair trying to get the knots out. when im at home though, i put them in braids and that's really the only things that stops tangles lol

my hair is not quite that long but it's also really thick, and because i am in bed all the time i find my hair gets SUPER tangled, and sometimes even matted if i don't keep my hair in braids or a bun when i'm at home. :(

So my "plopping" was a success, it's so weird to say though. XD When I woke up I took the shirt off and my hair was in nice soft curls with no tangles which is what always happens when I turban it with a shirt... so I am going to say it was a success, I'll have to do it more often.

I don't know if this is a hack, but coconut oil has saved my hair several times. I bleach it before I dye my hair, and the ends get absolutely fried. Just heat up a handful of coconut oil and coat your hair with it and leave it for a few hours. It makes all the difference.

My hair is a weird wavy mess that gets tangled soooo easily. (When I brush it, it is guaranteed that I will end up tugging out a clump or two trying to undo the knots that have appeared in the space of a day) Also, it sheds everywhere so you can't go anywhere in my house without finding random long strands of golden hair attached to something (also I have cats, so my hair combined with their fur= rollering every piece of furniture in the house to make it look presentable.) I don't really have any hacks for dealing with it, unless you count just shoving it in a bun or a plait and hoping it doesn't look horrible, but everyone always asks me, "how do you get your hair so nice and wavy?" And I'm always just like "Water? Sleeping? Existing?" I would love to have naturally straight hair but I guess I just have to deal with what I have! I have considered cutting it short, but I don't think it would suit me so I just can't do anything about it! Also I have a fringe which I have to straighten all the time or else it will go all crazy and decide to act like I was just electrocuted! If anyone knows any ways to take permanently wavy hair and make stay straight for more than a few hours (I use straighteners and a ton of hairspray to keep it straight and even then it pops back into chaos by the end of whatever event I am going to) then please let me know!

a girl i worked with used to get keratin straightening done. it's quite expensive, but her hair stayed straight for about a month! and it looked really nice, not "over-straightened", if you know what i mean

Sounds interesting! I will definitely check it out, I wouldn't be able to get it done often if it is expensive, but if I'm ever going on holiday and want my hair to be nice and straight I will keep it in mind! Thank you for the suggestion :)
