Has anyone else noticed... on the opening screen when you go to sleep, there's a gyroid to the right of the bed? Wonder if this could be a hint to their return - maybe the autumn update? (Just thinking, cafe seems likely at some point and autumn would make sense as the weather changes... the cafe used to have gyroid storage at least in one of the games, right? Hmm...)

I haven't been too bothered about them not being in this version although would be pretty cool to have them back and I know a lot of people miss them! My only problem was in NL I had nowhere to store them all, ended up taking up at least two museum exhibits and arranging them took forever (at least that'd be easier now with the new furniture-moving interface!) so would be great if we get proper storage for them this time around! Although at least we have much more room anyway now I guess!

Anyway just wanted to mention this in case it hadn't been spotted yet, although I bet it has haha! :)

There was also a gyroid in her building in new leaf. I'm pretty sure it's just a decoration, I don't see this as any hint but they most likely will add them eventually

What are gyroids? (didn't play NL)

A Gyroid.

You know LLoid? Who'll ask for your help in donations for bridges and inclines? He's a gyroid, one of the only named ones.

Gyroids seem to be clay, robotic creations that can be found after rain by digging them up. They've been around multiple past games.

They come in various sizes and styles, depending on which one they are will change the way they move or sound. So out of a set, large ones may sound deepere, while the smaller ones sound light.

Gyroids are used for decoration and when placed, you can turn them on and they'll wobble and make their sounds. Placing various ones together may create a specific rythym or they'll match the beat to the song that is playing from your stereo.

Brewster is a big fan of them.

Gyroids are in fact, based off of Haniwas. Japanese funerary and burying ritual clay figures.

That same gyroid was in her building in new leaf. I think also when you wake up in a dream in new leaf there was also another gyroid somewhere near her as well.

still I’m hopeful. I really want those gyroids.

The latest Ninji datamine also suggests at least 30 different gyroids could eventually show up...

Wonder what that number would mean.

Since in New Leaf there were 39 different kinds of gyroids. But 131 total.

Ya, the Gyroid Infuser was on a table in her suite, its just a staple design element for her.

Tysm for the explanation, very helpful :)
I think Lloid is kind of creepy 👀

You have this confused. The 35 in the datamine is the category number, not the number of gyroids. It's item category 35. There can be any number of items within the category.

Wouldn't call it directly a hint, as said Gyroid was also already in her house back in New Leaf and is part of the decoration. However, I can imagine that at some point Gyroids will coming back, perhaps together with The Roost.

It's her diffuser! It's gyroid shaped, and like everyone else has said, it was in the Dream Suite in NL.
I don't think it's intended as a hint, but more so just a throwback and part of Luna's vibe lol

But I definitely think gyroids will be coming back!

I don't think this is a direct hint since Luna had this Gyroid in New Leaf as well. Though perhaps it shows they haven't forgotten about gyroids. I hope that's the case, since I miss them.
