Gracie Grace and Custom Designs

Is it possible to get approval from Gracie Grace when you're wearing a custom design? She's never been to my town yet so I haven't been able to test this out, but I'd like to upgrade my TIY as soon as possible because I really want the golden shovel! Also, what do you have to do before she comes, and is it totally random when she does come, or is she there on certain days/times? Thanks!!

You cannot get approval if you are wearing a custom design
and it is random when she visits your town.

nope. she grades corresponding to the the theme. she might say, "keep it basic" and that'll mean that you'll need to wear "basic" clothing. this includes: shirts, hats, pants, shoes, and accessories.
she comes on completely random days, so theres really no saying when! but she only has a chance of coming when you meet the requirements. i believe its about 75,000 bells spent at T.I.Y?? not totally sure, so i suggest looking it up!

Also if you do not know what type a piece of clothing is when you want to buy it at Able Sisters, Mabel will say things like: I like the sporty look of it. Which is telling you the theme directly.
