Please, if you have nothing to say, don't even post. Thank you.

Hello, I haven't really posted a lot on the new board, but I would be thankful to post something that you, me, and others who are in the Military or are in a Military family.

If you guys haven't heard, president Barack Hussein Obama has signed (what I am hearing) a bill declaring the Government Shutdown. Sources are saying that this bill should last a week or maybe even longer. Sources are also saying that soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq may or not be payed. 75% of them are saying they will, even my local channel news is saying that they are going to be payed. I understand why they are doing this but I also don't understand why we are trying to 'save' money. We are the only country around globe that can print out money, even with that power we can't even save a dime. Even if we taxed everybody in the US 100%, we still wouldn't be able to pay our debt in the Treasurey. Seems sad, right? It is, sickening to.
I'm not sure if you guys or girls were ever apart of the last Goverement Shutdown which was back in 1995, I think very few of you guys were but supposebly most of the people were payed. Personally, I don't think we will get payed. After all, the US dollar is dropping and the middle-eastern, Asian, and European countires are not depending on the dollar. If I am correct, the dollar stands at 63?. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)

I'll be updating more tomorrow.

Off topic:
Not sure if you guys ever heard of the March 11th rumor, but it is true. Gasoline has jumped 60? since January 2011, explains the mess we are in. I'll quote my post I made on another forum in a spoiler. Feel free to read it!
If you guys haven't been watching the news lately but March 11th is a bad day for us Americans. Saudi Arabia doing a protest like in Egypt. What this protest is about is the oil and how us Americans using it. Over the past 20+ years environmentalist's have said don't drill in America. However some places like the Gulf of Mexico you can drill.

If this protest in Saudi Arabia works out as planned our oil prices at the pump can be much more. Probably even $8.00 per gallon! The average price at a pump is $2.75 at least. People in New York are paying $4.-- for a gallon of gas. This is horrible for us Americans as we are facing a huge financial crisis. We also are having a crisis about the U.S. dollar dropping prices.

Lets discuss the U.S. dollar dropping its value. You guys are probably thinking it isn't dropping and all this junk you hear on media isn't true. Think again! China and a lot more countries are getting sick of using the U.S. dollar. It is time to move on and use German Marks (or the new upgraded currency, Euros), Pounds, or even gold! This is because this currency is a lot more money then any other currency world wide. 1? is $1.61, that is horrible. If you look in the past the 1 British Pound was about $2.75! Can't you see it guys? The dollar is dropping at a fast pace.

Alright, lets see why the dollar is dropping. There are numerous reasons why the dollar is dropping but I'll name a few. One of the reasons why is because the U.S. is the only country in the world that can copy & print money. You can laugh all you want but it is the truth. There is also one other main reason why the dollar is dropping. Don't you guys remember the 2008 mortgage crisis? Yeah, a lot of us had problems back then and we still do. A lot of banks were closed, mortgage companies were hitting the road, etc. If you didn't know a lot of the biggest mortgage companies have huge debts. They have millions, maybe even billions of debts that haven't been paid off. A lot of that is in the U.S. Treasury! I can go on and on about the dollar dropping down but I have a little bit more to go.

Lets talk about our future. Back in WWII the average price of bread was $2. That is a lot of money we are talking back in WWII. This may soon happen to us. Our electricity will go higher because nobody is giving it to us. We will eventually have to use the British Pound or Euros to buy our oil. Countries like China have to buy dollars in order to export oil. This is going to be a huge problem when we Americans have to start buying money with our own money.

If we don't act fast we might be like Europe back in the 1970's where electricity was running in one half of the town and the other was using candles! Just recently us Americans have tape recording of what it was like in the 1970's. Europe was in a horrible state when their own economy was shot. Hospitals wouldn't take patients unless they were in the ER. TV stations shut off there networks at 10:30PM. (Which would be 22:30)

America, we need to change. Some countries in the U.S. are using different currencies to get around everyday life. (Most of this is happening in the Mid-West areas.) Some shops are accepting British Pounds. Legally by law they have to accept any currency unless they have a sign saying only dollars.

Serious discussion only. Thank you.

Question of the day:
Who do you blame for the government shutdown? Republicans, Democrats or The White House? Respond below! I'd be happy to hear your response!

Thanks again for reading my post. Please, only serious discussion please. I don't want to deal with the immature comments which I know will happen.

When Christopher Columbus landed on the shores of America in 1492, if he payed $20,000 per minute, to this day he still wouldn't have payed off our federal debt. :/

It's all about the inflation cycle. The government keeps printing off money which makes the dollar worth less and less than it already was. Personally, I'd rather have a shortage of money where it's worth more than money for everyone that's worth next to nothing.

I get a distinct chain e-mail vibe from the content of this thread.

You seriously think that? It really seems that somebody hasn't followed the news lately.

Have you been looking at stocks lately? Major companies are losing their stocks. That is a sign a major bankruptcy will come very soon. 2008 had tons of bankruptcy's, a lot were major Insurance Companies, Mortgage companies, and multi billion companies. I really don't see how you think this is a chain email. All it takes is a simple search and you can find tons of information about what I am talking about. Maybe even some information I don't know about.

Also, did you even read what I said in the spoiler? I'm pretty sure it explains a lot of things that were not explained not in the spoiler.

I'll continue in the next few hours. I have errands to do.

Yep it's very much a real thing, my husband and me are getting pretty nervous about the military pay being cut. He was told yesterday that there's a good chance he won't get his next paycheck and there's only a possibility about it being back paid. I totally agree with freezing government official pay if that's what they must do, but don't mess with the military pay, it won't be pretty. They have till midnight tonight to make the decision.

I see. :/ I wish you and your husband the best.

Like Rafren I wish you and your husband the best, and I can sort of relate to how you and you're husband are feeling. My cousin and her husband just had a baby two weeks ago (about 19 days). And he is in the military (well boot camp) and she doesn't work. So they would be in a bind aswell. Either way, I wish you two the best of luck through these hard times.

I think we should just drill here in the United States. It'd save us a lot of money. Aren't we sitting on one of the biggest oil/gas pockets or something? Like was said, I don't see how a government shutdown can save us money. The debtors we owe charge interest. I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but I recommend checking it out. It's not gonna stop because we do.

Nice find. Only problem is, are those actually live stats? If so, where are they getting that information from? Sounds to me somebody generated numbers and started from there. Also what does this mean?

The government just struck a deal to avoid the shutdown...not exactly sure on the details.

government makes me loldontcare big-time, but i've gotta say i'm against cutting the funding of the military.

debt's a big problem with us, though, cuz we're ****ing ******** and give all our money to banks. lolwdfxupmrica?

Christ, you didn't get what I meant. I meant that your writing sounds just like a chain e-mail: long on posturing and short on facts.

It's widely accepted that the 2008 bank and insurance failures can be blamed on what amounts to gambling on the financial markets. The idea that we are the only country that can print money is absurd. The Deutschmark is long dead, so I don't understand how you can claim it as a possible alternative to the dollar. Based on what the DoD has said, it appears that all shutdown-excepted military personnel will be paid retroactively automatically, and all others will probably be paid after the shutdown. Congress would have to approve, but it would amount to political suicide for both parties to deny soldiers pay.

The government shutdown isn't a big thing. They did this before in late 1995. All it means is that they are not meeting for a while to save money. Things will still be normal.
