Good custom speech for villagers?

My villagers keep asking me to change their speech and I don't have any good ideas. For greetings, I've gone with Salutations and Happy Holidays, and for catchphrases I've gone with ol' chap, sweetums, and dahling. What have you had your villagers say? Or have you found any you really like?

At one stage I had my villagers saying "Ice ice baby" as their greetings. Right now Ruby is saying "hoppity!" as her catchphrase. I just put in silly words and sayings.

I put what I think will fit them the most, like "peasant" for Ankha and "sheeple" for Wendy. I'mma put "sweetcheeks" for Bangle because THOSE CHEEKS.

I have Cookie saying "Have a pink day!" and Tia is greeting everyone with "Tea time!" All my snooties say "darling" and just for Muffy I have her greet with "Nevermore!"

I'm kind of immature so I tend to make them say inapproriate things that sounds funny or anything gross. But currently Gala is saying, piggy to everyone and probably everyone else might start!

My all-bunny town is usually filled with variations of bunny-esque sayings, so I guess I like to keep it kinda punny. O'Hare, for example, right now says "o'bun" and several of them now say "err err", but that's more of an inside joke kinda thing. My bunny, who the town was made in honor of, would grunt and it sounded like err err.

I have a theme town so all my villagers are based on Pokemon. I typically do their greeting as a Pokemon attack and their catchphrase as the Pokemon they represent.

There's this super handy list here that lists suggestions for each villager type. There's a lot of variety in there so hope that helps you!

I made one of them say "peprika" as a catchphrase cause I think it sounds cute?? Usually I make them say normal words with syllables changed. Or one syllable things like "bip"

I'm still kinda bleh when it comes to catchphrases, but for the custom nicknames, if I don't like their suggestions I look up lists of terms of endearment and pick whatever seems most fitting to that particular villager (or their personality type as a whole). EXAMPLE TIME!

A smug villager's gonna get things like "doll" or "my dear" while snooty gets "daaarling" or "princess" (and they will suggest princess themselves I believe...). Lazies tend to get food-themed ones like "cupcake" and "honeybun" (which are apparently nicknames they can choose to give to you themselves, but I've never had that happen! Huh.).

Peppies just get whatever's cute - "bestie" or somesuch. For uchis, I really like "girlfriend"/"guuurl" (I have Fuchsia in my town right now, can you tell?)Crankies can go one of two ways. If I like them, I think it's cute if they call me "squirt"/"kiddo" (especially when they're shorter than I am) but if I'm not their biggest fan I'll just have 'em call me "boss". Normals get... normal ones, like "buddy" or "pal" - those go for jocks too, though I kind of like their "ladybro" one.

I'm always at a loss when it comes to the catchphrases though. I either try to relate it back to whatever they call me, or they all end up yelling "AYYYYYYY" or "YOOOOOO" or "SUUUUUP" because I am completely stumped. One of these days I'll be ready.

Chadder says "You Need Cheesus" as a greeting, to accompany his default "fromage" catchphrase that influenced almost everybody in my town. I'm waiting for Ankha to ping me up to change her catchphrase to "plebeian", but for now I made her greeting as "Greetings, pleb". I changed Bam's "boosh" catchphrase to "chargin'" because it fits him better.

I always rephrase my villagers catchphrase to something food related like, mochi, dango, caramel, milkshake and etc

Well Elmer currently says 'Howdy Partner' as his greeting and his catchphrase is 'Naaaaybour'. It's sort of a western theme since he's a horse. Cyrano's catchphrase is 'Snort' which makes me chuckle (because he's got the huge nose!), Pippy says 'Honey Bun' and Bam says 'Reindeer' as his catchphrase, it has been 'Clip Clop' and 'Antlers' previously...

"You need Cheesus" is sheer brilliance. If I ever end up with that little guy in my town, I know what he'll be saying.

I gave the quote "Howdy pardner" to Elvis in my first town and Grizzly in my second town.
