Giving up on dreamies because of bad house locations

I'm currently resetting for a 9th villager and I'm getting cranky and snooty personalities, as those are the personalities I don't have in my town. I found both Fang's and Fancine's plots (my two last dreamies), but unfortunately they were in bad spots so I gave up and reset. Their spots weren't even that bad; however, I'm very picky about my villagers' houses locations and there are only two specific spots in my town where I'd want a house to be. I'd rather not have a dreamie than have then in a spot I don't like because I know that would make me enjoy the dreamies less.

Does anyone else feel that way? Have you ever given up on a dreamie while plot resetting because of their location? Have you ever made a dreamie move out of your town because you didn't like where their house was?

Do you currently have a dreamie in a bad spot? How did you work around it? Share some stories or pics!

I am the same. I got a few villagers I REALLY liked but didn't think their house location through, so now I'm letting them go.
It just irritates me so much to walk by a house that's in a bad spot, I was starting to not enjoy my game because of it.
I hope you get the villagers you like in a good spot soon. :)

I was plot resetting for a Normal when I found Fang but his house messed up some of my paths. I kept him like that because I could work with it and the area looks even better than before.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not alone. Right after I posted this thread, I found Fang's spot again - in a really bad place this time. :c

I've given up on Rosie even though she's my favorite cat because her house is right beside my town hall and it irks me that she's not in the "villager designated area" of my town. However I've soon come to regret that decision even though I traded her for my next favorite peppy, Chrissy. I want her back but not prepared to do 16-villager cycle.

I feel for you on plot resetting, it's the devil.

I'm the same too. I'm so picky that I give up dreamies or would reset hours to just have their plot on a nice place. Sigh... so frustrating sometimes. A few weeks ago I had to give up a villager I really liked, because his house was on such a bad spot and I didn't like it all. Then sometimes... I'm even reconsidering if I want a villager because his/her house exterior is awful.

Doc put his house in a decent location. It's slightly off where I want it and uuuugh I really don't want to cycle because it's pretty pointless because the place isn't too bad, but I still hate it. And I don't want to void him, but he's unpopular so I doubt anyone will take him...

Yeah, me too! I like Mira, but her house is the ugliest thing I've seen in my life.

yes. hell, I HAD renee but her house was right on the road infront of my cafe and so I got rid of her. tbh I like katt better, but I liked renee better than muffy.

I want all of my villagers houses to be lined up. Even if I could work around a house, it'd still bother me to see 8 perfectly lined houses and 1 randomly placed on my map.

I gave up on a villager I really, really liked (a starter, so I couldn't plot reset) because her house was 1 space up compared the other houses... (ACNL issues lol)

Yeah, I want this too. But Doc moved onto the path between the houses, so I can't even have 8 lines up anymore. I would 16 villager cycle, but I don't think anyone wants him.

I have had the same villagers for 7 months.I wont let any of them move.I can't do the reset trick, because I have 4 houses.I refuse to let them mess up my town again.

I don't have dreamies any way.I like to be surprized.

Stitches is in one of the worst spots in my town, he's isolated from everyone else and it takes forever to get to his house. He was a starter, I didn't get to plot reset his house. I'm never letting him go though, I love him to much. <3

I don't plot reset in Celadon, and Erik plopped himself right in front of my Re-Tail, taking my apple trees with him. It's a bit annoying but I don't care that much. It's actually kinda nice since I get to see him as soon as I start up.

Wow are people really that picky about house placements? Doesn't it kindof ruin the game for you having to reset so much and obsess about it?

It actually makes the game challenging for me, and it feels really satisfying when I finally get a villager in the perfect spot.

I've never restarted my town, so a lot of my dreamies are in bad spots, but I love my town and am working around it.

I absolutely loved Drago, but he placed his plot on the trees surrounding the paths. Like, he wasn't on the path, and he was actually aligned with Francine, but I'm picky like you.

I'm not picky for house locations, mainly because I'm too lazy to reset repeatedly for that. My villagers put their houses where they will. Yes, this means that sometimes they mess stuff up. But I'll just move things around to accommodate it.

I don't take dreamies seriously so the closest thing I have in my town, Baabara, who is my current favourite villager and whose house is in a spot I need to clear out to make way for a landscaping project, is staying for as long as she and I like, while I know that one day she will move. I guess that's how I'm working around it.

I did come across Marshal's house plot while I had just started plot-resetting the other week, and he owns a heck-ugly house and was in a not-so-ideal spot, but I wanted to have him in town for a bit so it's the same deal with him - I'm happy for him to live in town for a while but when the time comes he'll move.

No hurry for either of them though.

edit:
That being said, I have PWPs all around town so that new villagers can only move into certain areas, and so none of them will inconveniently land in the middle of a thoroughfare, so that's what makes houses like Baabara's and Marshal's bearable.

If only we could pick villager house placement - it would make things so much easier.

I know right?? We need to give approval for a park bench but no permission needed to slap a house on the map!
