Gigas Giant Clam, Giant Isopod, and Vampire Squid

One technique I did was to corner them on the corners of the net. The isopod is the fastest. The clam isn't as fast. The vampire squid eludes me.
Anything being faster than that clam means I’m never catching it!

It took me a little more than 20 minutes to catch the giant isopod. It's so fast. Felt like I went through the whole map. I only needed scallop for Pascal but that one provoked and challenged me.

lmaoo i feel this. i chased down the gigas giant clam for like,,, 5 minutes only to find out after that i didn’t have to mash the A button the entire time💀

i haven’t encountered the giant isopod yet but i am Afraid

I had really good luck catching them by swimming as slow as possible (just tilting the stick and not pressing A at all), and then diving down when I was exactly on top of them.

If you chase them at full speed they'll always stay ahead of you - you have to get them to slow down by also slowing down, as counter-intuitive as that is.

I got the isopod but not the clam yet (haven't played at night for the squid yet) and I had to take a break because I couldn't find it. 166 caught and no clam.

This is what I did this evening. It works a lot better and is less time consuming :P

Sea critters no longer go past the nets so you can trap them.
THANK GOD this was the worst thing ever in NL. I remember desperately trying to catch one of those rare crabs or something that was super fast and every freaking time they swam under the net 😭
Never completed the diving encyclopedia for this reason

I finally caught a gigas giant clam. The giant isopod grossed me out in New Leaf. I'm really not looking forward to encountering it in New Horizons with their detailed graphics.

I've gotten the giant clam twice and the vampire squid once. Haven't come across the isopod yet. Have 20 of 24 of the June sea creatures though. Good enough for one day.
