Do you guys know what happens if we gift villagers floor and wall papers like, do they get angry? do they use it ? I am very interested to change a bit some of my villagers house aesthetics but I don't know if it is a possibility. Looking forward for your advice and experience in this topic.

i tried to change fauna's walls and flooring by gifting her some but unfortunately she didn't use it and looked disappointed when recieving it
Thanks for getting back to me guys! What a shame man, i was really hoping to change Leonardos house interior vibe, he just moved in and while i find the floor super fitting the walls are a bit of dummer and i don't really think it fits him
In Wild World they would use them, but haven't since then.

I'm really sad that they won't change their wallpaper or flooring. I'd love to gift some of my villagers new ones especially my starter villagers. I don't understand why they gave the starting villagers generic houses and still don't let us help them customize it? I thought maybe the reason their houses were so simple was so that we would gift them new items to help build it up, like how we build up our own houses, but no. Phoebe's house is a hideous mess of different items, it's always sad to go into it.

I completely feel you pain, i wish they had introduced the ability to change and re-decorate our villagers home designs just as in the game happy home design, this would just be a game changer man

I hope eventually they will let us do something to their house, because right now everything is pretty basic due to item limitations, but if they add more items i feel like its fair to let some interior be updated? =/

Ugh, this is how I feel about Merry's house! She's the last of my villagers to have one of those DIY homes, and I've gifted her furniture, but she doesn't even use a lot of it. Which is just so disappointing to me. I really wish they would use wallpaper and flooring we gift them, too. Maybe if we make it known that we desperately want that to be a thing, they'll work on doing that with an update.I'm really sad that they won't change their wallpaper or flooring.

I remember trying to gift my first 2 villagers wallpapers when first playing the game lol Its strange how some stuff villagers aren't allowed to display in their homes.

I wish since it was in previous games too that they would reintroduce it would love to re-vamp a couple of my villagers homes ....
I find their responses kind of funny - some of them well say "oh wow, thanks I guess, what on earth am I supposed to do with this?" lol! It won't do any harm but it's not as effective as giving them wrapped fruit or seashsells, or better yet, PUMPKINS which they can't seem to get enough of.
I hope for a day when we can go into their homes and start rearranging things for them to fix all the silly things they do with their belongings, like putting TVs backwards and stuff like that. Maybe a 2021 update??? A girl can dream....

Thanks !!! I thought i was the only one mentioning the backwards furniture, truly sometimes i fell my island has micro climates and for some reason some villagers get an inside tornado and thats why their Homes looks like a huge question mark hahahahah.
but just like you I would also wish for this happy home feature to make a come back in Nh if im honest with you, lets all wish it strong enough and it might happen
