Getting villagers to wear shirts you want them to wear?

Anyone know a way I could try to get my villagers to wear my shirts? I want some of my villagers to wear their default clothing (Like Bunnie and her jade plaid tee) any suggestions?

you could send it to her in the mail but there's a possibility she'll just put it in her house

The method that almost always works for me is to mail them FIVE of the same shirt, at the same time. So basically, on one day, you send 5 pieces of mail with 5 shirts (same shirt) attached to it. Once in a while, this method does not work, but in the vast majority of instances, the very next day, your villager will be wearing the shirt you chose.

There is a danger of shirts being displayed in their house, but in my experience, it's one shirt at most. Good luck! This is how I control what all of my villagers wear.

EDIT: I forgot to add one thing. Make sure you change all the designs at Ables to an umbrella so that they can't wear anything else from Able's.

Eventually, they will change out of the shirt you picked for them, like another villagers gives them a shirt or whatever, but then you just repeat the process.

Mailing is a good option for in game shirts. Even if they display the shirt in their house, there's still a chance that they'll wear it. I mailed Chrissy a pink argyle tee, she displayed it in her house and wore it a few days later. I don't know of any method of getting your villagers to wear your custom designs, though.

Example:
Send shirt at 4pm
Character wait in your house
(Real life go do something)
5pm check the villager
No? Turn off the game and travel back and do it again until yes

Quite honestly I've even carried just the shirt and talkEd to the villager until they inquire about buying the shirt. If they put it on I save. If not I reset and try again.
