Getting Villagers to Mention Moving?

Alright, so I time travel frequently in order to get some of my unwanted villagers out, but since I know how poorly it can turn out, I check in my towns to see if anyone plans on moving.

Things were going pretty well, until other villagers in my town mentioned that Croque, a villager I want to stay, is moving out. However, no matter how many times I try to talk to Croque, he will not mention moving out. I've been talking to him as much as I can in the past half hour, but he just won't mention the fact that he's moving out soon. Is there any way that I can trigger the moving text? :/

Save and quit, and then re-enter your game. You could also try playing on a different character.

He finally pinged me about moving after I logged in once with my side character, then once with my mayor! It worked, thank you so much!
