Getting the Island tomorrow...

The Banana Trees have the best bugs on them. I cut down the other trees on the island. I think it's a higher chance to get bugs in the Banana trees.

True, but I heard that normal trees have Rainbow Stags on them and they are worth 10,000 Bells each.

You should cut off enough palm trees to stay only with 3-4 palm trees.

If you want to increase your beetle-appearing chances, cut off the trees at the center of the island.

I left 4 coconut trees on each side. I get 6 different rare bugs showing up, and get nearly 400K. The middle trees can attract rare bugs too, but they also attract low end bugs too.
Bugs that show up for me
Cyclommatus Stag - 8K
Golden Stag - 12K
Goliath Beetle - 6K
Horned Atlas - 8K
Horned Elephant - 8K
Horned Hercules - 12K

Those are the bugs that made me my first 10,000,000 Bells in my first town that went horribly wrong due to time traveling.

What did you do to your town?
Island wise, get rid of the bottom four palm trees for sure, and i'd clear the middle out too. The other trees are debatable in usefulness

Basically...

This morning, I spoke to Blather's in the Museum and finally got the option to build the cafe in London, I built it near a river and then later decided that it didn't look good and so I went to the Town Hall to cancel it...

Isabelle said that it would be cancelled by tomorrow and so I time traveled to the next day.
T&T Mart had posted an announcement on the Bulletin Board that they were closing tomorrow for renovation and I time traveled to tomorrow and then back to today and Super T&T were still renovating.

I time traveled back to tomorrow to check on them and they had done renovating on the day that they were supposed to have been closed, all thanks to my big mess up...

I would have continued normally from here on out as I could delete the bulletin board notifications, but I looked around on Google and it was only then from my research that I realised the Town Tree records the data too.

I reset because I want to play legitimately.

I have the bottom 5 palm trees and only 2 in the middle and don't do too badly for bugs! Everyone has a strategy that works for them though so maybe worth leaving the fruit lying around for a while in case you decide you'd like to try different locations out from time to time.

I've heard the best money making strategy is to place one palm tree on either side of the island and eliminate any other types of plant life. This is the most efficient way because it cuts down on other bug spawns that aren't rare beetles, and most people will scare away anything that isn't worth at least 8K bells. You can also see the beetles easier and cut down your risk of scaring the real jumpy ones away.

I refuse to do this because I'd hate for my island to look like poop. :p I removed the lychee trees from the middle, but I still have plenty of flowers and hibiscus plants. So I spawn a lot of butterflies and it takes me longer to get the money others get in half an hour. I like the pretty. :D
