I'm feeling pretty unmotivated trying to get this specific villager (Stitches) out of my town. Over the course of about two full days of cycling nonstop, I've just reached the 1 year mark (using the TT 5 days forward method) and have had about 70 villager pings as a result, none of them being the one I wanted, obviously.

I saw one or two threads with people ranting about this and figured I'd open up one for others to share their experiences as well in an attempt to motivate each other (ง'̀-'́)ง

I answered "got a long way to go" the first time he mentioned this dialogue.

I had no idea.

It's really so annoying, trying to get one specific villager out and all of your dreamies pinging you to move out. Or whenever you DO prompt that villager to move, but...they decide that they're staying afterwards. Why.

@peppercrossin Gotta get that soft reset game to be on point o)-(. It's happened a few times and I've always been extra careful to make sure they leave...

This happened to me with Klaus in my old town twice. The third time he FINALLY gave up.

It is simply the most tedious process when you have a select few left for marking and they just won't leave...what's even WORSE is you could be the most experienced trader in the world and you accidentally tt too far, and a dreamie you love is gone.

It seems to happen a lot with grumpy villagers?? Or maybe that's just my personal experience.

After you say "see ya", if they agree, save and quit. Then DO NOT speak to them AT ALL until they are in boxes. If they say ..."changed my mind" after you say yes to them leaving, then exit the game without saving. When you go back in, the same villager will ping to go. Their answers are random, just like the campsite.

Oh my goodness, I did not know that--I will definitely keep this in mind for the future. Thank you so much! (:

Yep, as aleshapie says, you can soft reset for them to ping you again to leave. I just have trouble getting that villager to ping me period. Chief and Fang have pinged since I made this thread ; o ;... tears.

Having been an experienced Cycler here on TBT, this is what I send to people when they are trying to get someone specific out to get one of my villagers in:

OK...here is how you do it...

Make sure that nobody wants to move today. (if they do, and its not someone you want out, tell them NO)

TT 4 days BACK. Save.

TT 4 days AHEAD. (same day you started with).

Walk in front of every villager and someone will ping you to move.

Just be sure to say NO to everyone you want to stay.

This has worked without fail for me for 30+ villagers.

Most important is to be sure that when you walk in front of a villager, they actually "see" you (not fishing, talking to another villager, etc)

Well, you learn something new everyday! Thanks, guys. I'm not a very experienced cycler [I don't think I've ever had a cycling town a day in my life]--but I'm usually pretty good at getting villagers out...unless it doesn't occupy my full attention haha

I use a similar method that is a bit safer since I don't need to worry about the "ping" part exclusively.

Start off on a day a villager pings, tell them to stay.

- TT 5 days or until the day they said they would originally leave on your mayor.
- Save & Quit and go to DS settings.
- Move the date a month forward.
- Start up a new character and check to see if any houses are gone on the map.

If a house IS gone, then exit, turn the DS date back to original and log onto mayor and get them to ping you. Usually, fastest way is to talk to them, save & quit, then log back on and they will ping you unless it's a holiday.

If a house is NOT gone, then exit, turn the DS date back to original, and move the date forward on your mayor. Log on, save and exit, do the whole 1 month thing over until a house is gone.

I made a thread a while back, when I was trying to get Fang to move out before resetting. I ended up giving up since over 80 villagers moved out while he still remained. -___-

I have had many friends lose villagers inadvertently that way. But I have never lost a single villager doing it the way that I do. I can typically get any villager out of my town in one hour or less doing my method.

oh jeez ;; that's terrible luck. I don't know if I've ever had a lot of bad luck with cycling.

I've been trying to get Samson and Gladys to move out for the past few weeks. They haven't pinged me once.

I remember that thread D': ... it's actually one of the threads I was referring to in my OP QAQ

Really? I've never had any issues with it, and logically it should be nigh impossible to lose a villager if done that way. Usually that way works with /any/ villager with me, but Stitches is astronomically stubborn.
