Getting gold roses from purple and black on my way to blue

Ive been gold roses from my purple and black pairs. It’s happened three times from two different pairs in one of my crosses on my way to getting a blue rose. (I’m trying two different rose methods at the same time.) I haven’t seen this combo on any breeding chart, it might be in that exhaustive guide but I haven’t looked.

From my understanding they only come from black roses, so it may not have much to do with the purple ones.
You can get gold roses from one black rose all by itself once it's watered with a golden watering can I believe!

Ive had gold for a while, hope to have blue eventually!

blue roses come from special hybrid reds though, so purple/black/gold shouldn't even be part of the equation

There are multiple methods online. I’m doing two at the same time. For one method purples breed with black.

Not entirely true. I got my blue from two blacks that spawned from two hybrid reds.
