Has someone lost a villager they loved so much they did the 16 villager cycle?
How hard is it if you have all 9 other of your dreamies?
I had all 10 in Snowflur, and due to a TT accident, I have tutu in boxes, I loved her location, and her, and I don't want to let her go :(
I need to know if it is possible to get through this without pulling my hair out, or if I should just give up and look for a new villager

Ignoring my bias because I hate Tutu lol. Sorry hun...

erhem...

It's unfortunate but there really is no easy way to go about it. You're actually pretty low on options, sadly. This isn't counting the...less than legitimate methods you could use, but I'm assuming those aren't a factor here.

1) You can attempt to keep cycling 10th villagers. This will be slow. You're gonna be stuck utilizing the campsite. You COULD utilize the giveaways in the villager plaza, but that's a gray moral area considering you might be using someone's dreamie for cycling fodder. If you do go this route, ensure you only take villagers who are at the end of their owner's time limit and will be voided anyway. You can attempt to give that villager away again when you get them in boxes. Otherwise, you're stuck utilizing the semi-reliable campsite or spotpass and voids, which are random and unreliable. But it can be done.

When your 10th moves in, introduce yourself and then ignore them. Keep cycling and speaking to your dreamies for rumors and keep denying their moves until your 10th finally pings you (Yes it can happen. It's a lower chance, but it happens). You're gonna have to do this 16 times. I recommend a comfy cycling method and either a Netflix subscription or some really good Youtubers.

It's gonna be time-consuming but the important thing to remember is that you will get there. Cycling 16 villagers is no walk in the park, especially when you don't have a few expendable slots. But well...it's like going from a car to walking. It's a lot slower, and your feet are gonna hurt, but you're gonna eventually make it.

2) This actually might be doable, but it depends on a lot of factors. You can obtain a new copy of the game or have some trustworthy people hold your dreamies. You can then remake Snowflur. Resetting for a comparable/identical map will be time consuming, and so well either cycling the villagers out yourself or waiting for others to cycle them. You could theoretically simply re-adopt all of them, but that'll prolly be way more frustrating. However, re-cycling those dreamies MIGHT be a bit less stressful than doing the 16 villager cycle for Tutu, whom you can re-adopt immediately when you remake Snowflur. The challenge, of course, will be finding her ><

So assuming you're stuck on getting Tutu (which, as much as I dislike her, I can't blame you due to her unique role as the polar bear), you're stuck with those two options. I honestly can't blame you. For a snow-themed town, she was probably one of the worst losses you can face and believe me I'm sorry ><

So I would suggest trying your best to be patient and cycling 10th villagers. I don't think it's worth remaking your town and I think that option is not only riskier, but more stressful. I highly suggest finding a good series or youtuber(s) to get into and watching it while you cycle through. I will gladly re-post my 4 day method if you need some help getting started~

Whichever way you go I really wish you the best of luck. Remember that it's only time and you'll be able to get Snowflur back on its feet. 10th villagers are stubborn but they will move out eventually <3

I forgot to add if you do cycle, remove any/all hybrids and store them on your beach. Also ensure you keep some of the fruits you have in case some orchards get taken out. Since you will be expelling those who move in, it's best to eliminate plot worries so you don't need to worry about any type of resetting. So keep your valuables safe while you do this.

Also to make this a bit more useful, I'd suggest killing off Beautiful Town ordinance. If you have the space to keep your hybrids/special flowers safe, there's no real reason to keep BTO. This will allow you to let some weeds spawn and, if you have a gold can (I think I have a spare if you need one) you can keep some roses out for gold rose purposes~

It's a small silver lining, but there's ways to have a sense of progression. If you don't mind going a bit slower, you can keep BTO on and utilize your cycling FOR hybrids~

Thank you for this, the four day method is going 2 day forward then 2 day back right?
I have been doing the whole netflix/youtube thing while I PWP hunt the last few days.

Looks like I am going to embark on a 16 villager cycle for tutu>.<
Here we go!

There's also 6-day method.. to get moving pings quickly.

1. When someone pings you about move, and you want them to stay (in your case, all your dreamies except the 10th), tell them to stay. Save and quit.
2. TT 6 days forward. Load the game. Save and quit immediately.
3. TT Back 6 days (so back to the same day). Someone else WILL ping you about their moving date. Talk to everyone if you don't get the ping right away and check for rumors. Don't TT until you are sure no one is moving..

Repeat the steps until the person you want out (10th villager for cycling) pings you.

This works almost 100% of the time. Well, it worked 100% for me when I had full town with 10 villagers. Few days ago I tried the method when I was at 8-9 villagers in my new town and I had to TT 6 days forward, 6 days back, then checked for rumors, and no one was moving and so I TT forward 1 day and got the ping.

I'm so sorry about Tutu. I have all 10 dreamies in my main town and I'd be so devastated if I lost any of them ;__; hope you can get her back soon!!

That 6 day method sounds cool and may work better than mine, but I'll post mine in case you still want it~

-Choose a starting date (i.e January 5th). That is the date you always TT back to. It'll help you keep your head straight.
-From your start date, TT 1 day at a time until you get a mover. There are 2 reliable ways to find this mover:
a. Talk to your animals for rumors. If at least 2 animals give you a "generic villager rumor" you can safely assume a mover doesn't exist. A great guide to rumors exists here. You want at least 2 rumors because your mover will sometimes give you a rumor, and you'll be unaware he/she is moving~
b. Just go for the ping. You can run in front of all animals first and if you lack the ping, get the rumors next~
-If you want this animal to move, let him. If you want him to stay, make him.
-If you want the animal to move, TT to their move-out date, load up, say goodbye if you wish, then Save and Quit out. TT back to your starting date, load, Save and quit.
-If you want the animal to stay, simply TT back to your start date, load the game, then Save and Quit out.

The reason you return to the start date is to that the game processes the move/move denial. This allows you to get a new mover, actually, as soon as the day you TT back, which I originally didn't realize could happen~ So this is why:

-After you Save and Quit out of your starting date, TT FOUR DAYS into the future. Check for rumors and Pings.
-More often than not, you'll have a mover on this day. If you don't, TT one day at a time. You often won't need to go further than a few days unless you're unlucky, which I have been, but usually by Day 4 it's the first day someone is able consider the move~

It's a very THOROUGH method, and it takes some time to perfect, but I've never had a TT accident and while it's a little slower, it's definitely safe and quicker than going one day at a time and such. It's great for letting your grass grow and flowers spawn as well. But the MAIN REASON I like it is because your animals don't "forget" you, which skips the dialogue and lets them ping~

The only real risk to my method is that because of TTing back, you can have a mover on your "back date". There's a small chance that when you TT 4 days forward, you can have a mover the next day. Be thorough. Until you're comfy with it, use a new villager to "scout" for boxed animals in order to avoid accidents until you find your rhythm~

I am scared for the 6 day method because a villager could move out in that 6 days:/
4 days is usually safe as long as you check for movers n such

Um, no because when you deny a villager's move, you can TT forward as far as you want without losing a villager. That's how some other people get back to the current date after TTing for a while or getting back in the game after taking a break for a few weeks or months. Because after the 'moving ping', the game requires at least 1 day to pick a next villager that wants to move out or something like that. So as long as you deny someone's ping and you save, you can TT forward right after.. and going back always count as 1 day.

I found this, tho it is kinda old ;__; here [x] another person explained the 6 day method in the post >.<

well, if you don't feel safe, you don't have to do it xD there's multiple other ways to cycle villagers out that people use and we all prefer different ones c:

6 day method is safe~ The game needs a day to "process" a move denial~ That's how I got bedhead hehe. It's a good trick if you're taking a hiatus too!

My method actually removes that process by TTing back directly after a move. Ara's keeps the process~

I would think Ara's would have a higher chance to consistently move villagers. My method -usually- gets a mover on the day you TT, but I've had times where I had to TT forward a few days xP. I would think Ara's would have a higher shot of generating a mover~

But as we've both said, do what you're comfy with! Maybe you'll even develop your own personal "cycling style" when all this has passed~

now that I think about it, you are right with the whole day to process the mover,
forgot about it.
I will work with the 6 day method, as soon as I can find a villager to move in>.<
(I don't want a campsite in my town, I have a villager with a tent for a house as my "camping area")
